Svørdendar Bid for August Simlympics!

The city-state of Svørdendar is formally placing a bid for the August Simlympics. The city, although old (600years) has never placed a bid for the Simlympics. Due to co-incide with the 600 year anniversary of the city, the Government, Crown and public have launched a campaign of renewal and developement to hopefully see that the Simlympics visit this Scandinavian city for the first time.

Here is the logo for the Svørdendar Simlympic bid:



The lines represent the canals of the city (which you shall see soon!) with them coloured the Simlympic colours. This design was voted favourite by the public.

Here is the historic heart of Svørdendar. The canal system was the primary means of movement throughout the city until the advent of roads. Now, the roads frame the canals which are lined with historic houses.

King Leopold Park is the heart of the historic district with locals converging on the leafy green space whenever possible.

Just a brief mention. The official motto for the bid is:

Live It. Its Now!

Where would you place the stadiums for the city or will there be a combination of a merger Bid?

What I have not shown yet, but will do soon, is the second half of the city which has been developed and is a modernist paradise.

As the frantic construction work starts to slow down the Olympic venues are emerging from the dust.
Here are the first press released photos of the PROGRESS of the Olympic Park. It is NOT finished yet but have a sneak peak!

Just if you are wondering, yes i did place all of those open grass areas individually! My thumb is VERY sore!! At the moment there are 2183 open grass areas in the city!

very nice and a helpfull tip try using the Lot Editor and creating a grass lot in a bigger size so you don't get stuck with 1x1 grass lots

Any overview of the Simlympic Zones, Downtown and Historic District. There may be an updated photo if the City Council decides to fund the construction of a monorail linking the airport, Simlympic Park and Downtown.

good overview shot another quick tip for ya-when taking screenshots you can completly close the nav panel by clicking on the minimize button in the lower left corner then pushing ctrl+shift+S you will get the screenshot tool without needing the menu for it thus giving us unspoiled pictures.

Looking really good Melbourne . One tip though; maybe try to download a few different parks, rather than just having lots of the same park next to each other - it'll look a bit nicer.
