Portage Des Sioux Winter Olympics
For now this is the start of my bid. more will be addded later. I promise
Portage Des Sioux would love to host the Winter Simplympics. The Portage Des Sioux metro area is home to many sports franchises in the SLB,SLBAAA, STHL, STHLD2, STLL, and many other leagues therefore there are many suitable venues to be the host the various Winter Simlympic events. Below is the list of venues and what they would be used for.
Centennial Bank Centre- Ice Hockey
seating capacity 19,500
University Ice Arena- Figure Skating/Short Track Speed Skating
seating capacity- 14,000

Sim Cellular Stadium- Speed Skating
seating capcity- 50-60k (depending on if seats will be removed to make room for the speed skating)
Biathalon- will start at city Park and at Lake Moor Park (about 30 km) (there is an outdoor rifle post along the course)
Snowboarding, Alpine-Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super G, and Ski-Jumping- these events will be held at the Sioux Slopes Ski Reort.

Transportation is covered
-PDST bus and Metrorail service connect all the venues that will be used for the games plus the Athletes village will have a light rail station.
-Highways take those who choose to rent a car virtually anywhere in the metro area. (note for those who drive; the Western Beltway extension will be completed by the time of the opening ceremonies.)
- PDSIA (Portag Des Sioux International Airport) will be sending shuttles will work with PDST to set up a bus route that stops at all the local hotels. Also the Evergreen Park Airstrip will handle extra fights into and out of the area during the games.

Ok! In that case, good luck! I'm bidding too, so lets have a nice competition! Just one thing, it seems like there are palm trees? Well, I guess as long as it gets snow.

Actually palm trees can grow in Vancouver, host of the 2010 winter olympics

Portage Des Sioux has released the logo that would be used for the Winter Simlympics. The blue dashes represent the Mississippi River which runs through the area. The City is really glad to finally release the logo design to the public.
