I got a pm on SimPeg from someone named Alfred "patriots_1228" who has offered to do some BATs for us. Here is what he said:

hey i saw your post about the winter simlympics needing BATs, do you guys still need those? I would be willing to do one or two. The only snafu is that I am trying to get this website going and I need some chump change to get it up. So i'm wondering if bats are needed, would you guys be willling to pay maybe 4 dollars per BAT? It could also be scaled by size, for example an arena could be 8 dollars where a simple ski lodge could be 2.

Setting aside the fact that this sounds like one of the many scam emails I receive, I don't think we want to go down the road of paying someone for BATs. Do you all agree?

Yeah is there any information about him anywhere? Maybe some of his BATs for examples of his work?

It looks like he has made a fair number of posts on SimPeg and he has issued a general call for BAT requests (and then says there is a catch if you are interested, which I assume means that he wants to be paid).

Perhaps Canuck knows him, as Canuck has been active on that site.

I know Patriots he's done a slew of BATs in the past they're up on the STEX it's not a scam but I now know what his catch is with the BAT requests that he mentioned in his thread on SimPeg.

I agree I don't wanna be paying for BATs
