The ParaSimlympics Empty The ParaSimlympics

Post by Slacker Tue Jun 17, 2008 5:22 am

The ParaSimlympics ParaSimlympics

The ParaSimlympics take place at the end of the Simlympics and last for two days.

The ParaSimlympics consist of four sports:
Wheelchair Athletics
Goalball
Swimming
Boccia

We feel that the ParaSimlympics gives disabled Sims an opportunity to participate in the Simlympics as well as providing a unique set of sports for the viewers to watch.

I'm currently working on an upgrade to the competition part of the Simlympics (The sports, the system to work out medalists etc). Consequently, I'm wondering whether to keep the parasimlympics alive? Thoughts?

while a good idea, in the spirit of the olympics good idea, in the spirit of the simlympics not as much.

It just is more work for the host country and we as sim city players dont get much of anything out of it in return.

The idea hits a great idea and a great humanitarian thing.... but not a great deal for us. Just seems unesicary as a whole

without going into too philosophical and into 'political correct', I think that it depends by how much deal you and the host city have to maintain that commitment after having worked so hard during the normal simlympics. I find that it's right to keep them alive, as an appendix of the games and as an opportunity for the host city to show new things.

I think that should be expanded at least one more day. Paralympics represent the human values and the pure spirit of fair play. To me is as important as the Simlympics games.

Okay, the consensus seems to be to keep them. They will be expanded slightly, but no where near as much as the Simlympics will be expanded.

I'm glad that you are keeping the parasimlympics. By using the same venue photos for the events, it is easier on the host nation. Also, I learned something about the paralympics thanks to the parasimlympics, so they are educational too.
