The number one mag in Martopia...

It will be nice if you add some comments or suggestions for future stories. Next Marla Mag will come out as soon as I can make it come out. Maybe in a few weeks or so...

I presume this is the first magazine on SimSports? If so, congrats!

1) Look at real magazines for realistic work
2) Don't use Paint...take some time to look around for alternatives (GIMP, Paint.net, Adobe Photoshop, etc.)
3) Keep all sizes the same proportions.

Do you have any ideas for the next mag?
Also do you know where you can download one of the alternatives that you advised? I had Photoshop, but it was a demo version .

Soon I will post my new mag. Sorry for the inconveince.

Actually I will post two new mags to make up for my first one.

Yesterday our beloved president, Sophie Dreamer died. Why she died is still a mystery, but even at this minute our secret police (MSP) are investigating into the matter. The vice president was visiting his aunt when heard that he had become president. Today he made his first presidential speech.

Fellow Citizens:

• First, "we will continue to give unfaltering support to all our cities, and we will continue to search for ways to strengthen their authority and increase their effectiveness."
• Second, "we will continue our programs for world economic recovery."
• Third, "we will strengthen freedom-loving nations against the dangers of aggression."
• Fourth, "we must embark on a bold new program for making the benefits of our scientific advances and industrial progress available for the improvement and growth of undeveloped areas."



Many world leaders came to shake his hand: President Barack Obama (USA), President Dmitriy Medvedev (Russia), Emperor-Regent Prince Charles (Grand & Belluterra), President Nicolas Sarkozy (France), President Ma Ying-jeou (China), President Alex Gray (Linktoria), Prime Minister Matthew Whitehead (Stone), King Jordan I (Waterbridge), President Kyle Johansen and Vice President Carlos Cruz (New Chandler). Sadly Queen Elizabeth II (UK) was not able to come, but she sent her best wishes. The new First Lady of Martopia, Helen Linkhood gave birth to a girl on the same day. They named her Mary Anna Linkhood. The editors of the Marla Mag hope that all is well with all of Sophie Dreamer’s relatives and gives our condolences to Dreamer’s husband, Joseph Dreamer.

Sorry to hear about your former president, and of course, more congrats to George Linkhood.

Sophe Dreamer: The Martopian Woman of the Year

Sophie Dreamer was born Sophie Kingston on the 28th of January, 1986. Her father was a politician and her mother was a doctor. She was born in the capital of Martopia, Marla. She had an older brother, Daniel. While growing up she had the desire to become a doctor like her mother. She went at the age of 3 to school (that’s the normal age to go to school in Martopia). She was a brilliant student. One day when she was 8 years old she heard that her brother was ill. She came right away. Her mother told her that he was dying. He had malaria. After the death of her beloved brother she was not the bright, cheerful person that everybody knew. Before she was known as Sophie Sunshine, but now she was just Sophie. She finished school better then the whole class, but still grades didn’t make her happy. She went to the University of Marla.



There she met Joseph Dreamer. He was a year older then her. But they became good friends. He was into politics, but she wasn’t sure of politics. Her father was a politician as you know. Soon spring came and after spring came love. They both finished university and became scholars of science.



Later on, Joseph proposed to Sophie. She accepted. They married in a small, yet quaint church. After that they decided to not live in Marla, but in Nacogdoches. (Nacogdoches is a small town popular with the well-off in Martopia) There she had a boy, Steven. In Martopia on the 10 of March they started to vote for a new president. Joseph persuaded her to sign up. The people soon started voting. Only two people were left-Arnold Suzuki and Sophie Dreamer.



Sophie Dreamer won the popular vote. In Martopian history she was the first female president. Soon after becoming president she started helping with charity. Some people call her the best president that our nation ever had. She was elected twice and was nearing the end of her second term when she suddenly died. She was president for nearly 5 years. She was found in bed as she wanted to rest because she was feeling a bit tired. The MSP found some clues, such as a gun with a silencer outside the open window. There were no fingerprints on the gun. Even now the MSP are trying to find the killer.
