International Cricket Premiership Sign Up Thread
The International Cricket Premiership

Hey guys, thanks for taking a look at this thread. Cricket is far and away my favourite sport. Since I was a little kid I've played and watched cricket for hours on end, pouring over the intricate statistics pages during rainy days, dreaming of getting out and playing cricket, something which I've gotten rather good at, as last week I made it into the county squad. Now, this shameless self promotion isn't for nothing, I promise you. I've decided to take my love for cricket and bring it the SimSports website, as I did with my 2nd favourite sport, Rugby. To sim the results I'm using Syedur Rahman's Cricket simulator, which gives you very intricate stats. Unfortunately this means an intricate sign up (sorry). More on that later however. The season will run all through the summer, starting on Saturday the 24th and finishing, well at the end of Summer
Each team will play every other team in their group home and away, while they'll only play teams from the other group once. Every win is awarded 2 points, a draw 1 and a loss 0. At the end of the season the top two teams in each group will play each other in a 5 game series. The 2 winners of these series will then play each other in a 7 game series, to decide the champion of the ICP. The games will be 30 overs long (to those not initiated into cricket I suggest you read the wikipedia article, located here [Linkie]. There is also a wiki devoted entirely to the ICP, which lists detailed statistics and ball by ball commentaries of all the games. This can be found Here [Linkie]
If you want to sign up, here's the info I'll need:
City
Team Nickname
Three Letter Code
Logo
Stadium Name Pic if possible but I know cricket BATs (no pun intended) are hard to find.
Helmet Colour
Jersey Main Colour
Jersey Sleeves Colour
Pants/Trousers Colour
Now the complicated bit:
18 Player Names For each player you need to tell me whether there left or right handed and how they bowl, from the following options
Fast Medium: The standard bowler, you'll need a few of these
Fast: A quick bowler, only 3 or 4 are recommended
Leg Break: A complicated, spinning, bowl, only 2 or 3 are recommended (Only Right handed)
Off Spin: A complicated, spinning, bowl, only 2 or 3 are recommended
Keeper: Stands behind the wicket, you must have one and no more
Well thanks for reading that, I know it was a bit heavy, and I know it'll take a while to sign up but I urge you to do it.
Thanks for reading, Alex

Re: International Cricket Premiership Sign Up Thread
Ok I guess people don't want to sign up for this, I'll cancel the league seeming as you can't run it with just four teams

Re: International Cricket Premiership Sign Up Thread
You could also give people more than 4 days to sign up. A lot of people don't even check the site that frequently.

Re: International Cricket Premiership Sign Up Thread
I was planning on signing up just wanted to figure out which city and then name and logo.
For Leagues it's best to have a sign up period of at least a Month to allow more to see and sign up(unless you hit a cap(if one exists) then you can close them)

Re: International Cricket Premiership Sign Up Thread
OK, i'll work on it right quick, I'm actually working on a new city right now, a legitimate big city like in alot of cj's, trying to beat my current largest of 300,000.
City: Winford
Team Nickname: Fighting Ducks
Three Letter Code: WFD
Logo:
Stadium Name:
Helmet Colour: Yellow
Jersey Main Colour: White
Jersey Sleeves Colour: Green
Pants/Trousers Colour: White
As for names, english and american names are preffered since all my countries have strong resemblences to appalachia and the southern united states [except stone up by seattle]

For my rosters, Alex, can you put in some random Japanese, Korean, and Chinese names? Maybe add some English and Scottish names in the mix?

Re: International Cricket Premiership Sign Up Thread
First question: How many teams each? I have a county-style system with 50 teams, some of which could crossover into this league.
Second question: Why 30 overs and not the more accepted 50 or 20? Seems like an odd choice.

Re: International Cricket Premiership Sign Up Thread
Bruce: Yeah, I can do that for sure
Joe 90: You can have 3 teams at the most and I'm using 30 overs because my simulator wont let me use 20, but your right i might change it to run with 50, like the proper 1 day internationals

Re: International Cricket Premiership Sign Up Thread
Ok so I added yours, simsamerica but I had to change the logo, because the one you wanted had a watermark on it, meaning it was a pain to work with. I hope you like the one i've given you but if you don't just give me another one or the one you gave me before but without the watermark and I'll change it
Also, Bruce, I've created the roster for Kalama, which can be found here [linkie]
