Chihiro Dream Games 12.1.08 - Page 2 PrinceMatthias

Ladies and Gentlemen, Chihiro’s bid for the December Simlympics has finally arrived here at Simsports. This bid took about ten sim-years in the making and we are quite sure we are ready to present to you our city. We have all seen the wonders that the Greeks can show the world. It is now time the light of the world shines on another corner of the world. We wish all other bidders the best of luck. Penthesili brought Athens, Chihiro brings Beijing….Enjoy.

San Prado Athletics Center

San Prado is a suburb south of Chihiro. It is known as the "Monaco of Eastern Europe", since all 200 plus residents are literally rich. There is an athletics center south of the city. It has been recently upgraded to Simlympic standards. Here are some pictures of the city and the Athletics centre:

Since our bid's theme is the dream games, the Chihiro Simlympic Committee realized that we can't have dream games without our athletes being top notch. So most of the venues in the Athletics Center will be for the athletes to workout, practice and get to know everyone. The Athletics Center was inspired by London's Olympic Park, but since nobody's made a London Olympic Park texture and bat set yet, this is the best we Petrovars could do, but a reminder that if Chihiro should host the games, all three simlympic areas along with Avenida Vista and Predeccia will be upgraded and renovated again.

Chihiro Dream Games 12.1.08 - Page 2 Metro

-Transportation
-Chihiro uses the subway, buses, taxis, saris(ferry) and city shuttles as means of
transportation. Both Simlympic areas has access to adequate parking spaces and free
shuttle service will be available.
-All means of transportation will be paved and all traffic lights will be changed. As of
September 2008 90% of the traffic lights in Chihiro, Avenida Vista and Predeccia has
English and French signals along with Petrovan.
-Since Petrova is an Eastern European country, trains are very rare in the country. Chihiro
will only build a railway system if the city is chosen to host the Simlympics. However, the
shuttles, busses and taxis should be adequate for the Simlympics. City shuttles are free of
charge to everyone.
-The Chihiro Olympic Complex is conveniently located at the center of the city for easy
access. Most of the events will be held in the Complex.
-The Petrova Simlympic Park in Grevershki is only twenty minutes away from the Olympic
Complex and free shuttles will be available.
-There are approximately 30 bus stops, 30 shuttle/taxi stops, and five subway stations at
the Chihiro Olympic Complex. There are approximately 36 bus stops, 46 shuttle/taxi stops,
and seven subway stations at the Petrova Simlympic Park. The Petrovan Ministry of
Transportation wanted more as many as 90-100 stops, but a question realism and traffic
has been asked at the Chihiro Bidding Convention.
-There are major subway stations located at the center of each simlympic area that directly connects to the other two simlympic areas for convienient and faster commute to the venues during the games.
-Where to Stay
-There are numerous hotels throughout the city ranging from three-star to five star
luxurious suites.
-The Media Village is located north of the Athletistadium. The main broadcast tower is in
the Najera Tower in Downtown Chihiro.
-The Simlympic Village is located twenty minutes south of the Complex in Chihiro next to
the Parq D’Importancia. There are six 20-storey apartments. Each athlete will have their
own suite with a mini living room and a huge bedroom.
Petrovan Cuisine
-There are over 1,000 Resturants all over Capital Belt(Metro Chihiro)
-Restaurants range from fast food to haute cuisine
-Restaurants range from asian to european to african to latino to american to pacific cuisine

Questions & Answers (Updated)

What were some of the things that Chihiro officials did to prepare for the bid?
-Operation Heaven: Parks have replaced abandoned neighborhoods and places. Streets have been cleaned. And power plants have been changed to cleaner alternatives. Our buses now run on solar energy.
-Airport had to be expanded
-Citizens learned French, English, Greek

How & Why did you choose the location of the Simlympic park/complex.
-The location of the Olympic Complex replaced the old sports centre and was just upgraded to a Simlympic standards.
-We chose Grevershki to be the location of the Simlympic Park because Greverhski is a developing suburb north of the capital and as much as possible, we didn’t want to demolish any existing buildings. Also Grevershki is home to other key areas like the Ambassador’s Village, the Grevershki Intellectual Centre, Chihiro Int’l Speedway and the Lanayru Beaches.

What is an estimated cost of the games if Chihiro is chosen and how will you pay for it?
-The minimum estimated cost of the games will probably amount to 300 billion Petrovars (80 billion USD). Mr. Spielberg estimated the opening ceremony to be at least 110 billion Petrovars alone.
-Petrova has been preparing for world recognition and the Simlympics is their answer. We already have more than two thirds of the estimated amount in our Royal Bank. The mountains in Petrova is known to have a special and rare type of diamonds only found in Petrovan Mountains. They are very expensive and therefore we get about 50 million Petrovars a year from this business.
-China has also agreed to support Chihiro in the Simlympics financially.

Enough about the Simlympics, what about the Parasimlympics?
-That’s what we love about the Simlympics, you don’t have to be the top athlete to enjoy the games. The Simlympics doesn’t judge you on your physical appearance, it’s the idea of everyone celebrating unification in something we all love. The venues for the parasimlympics will be held at the Petrova Simlympic Park in Grevershki.

The bid video mentions the cleanest cities. What does it have to do with Chihiro?
-Well, Chihiro has looked up to these five cities for inspiration and as a result, Chihiro is actually the seventh cleanest city in the world. Chihiro’s power is from the Soliplant Center a few miles west of Grevershki. It is 100% Solar Plants. Also, “Operation Heaven” transformed the city into a green city. There are trees in every block. The Capital Forest has been expanded. The number of parks throughout the city has increased as well.

Why did you make two Simlympic areas? And are there any other cities used?
-First of all, the Chihiro Simlympic Complex is not capable of having a lot
of stadiums. It is possible, but it would be really crowded. So we decided to put most of the indoor stadiums in the Petrovan Simlympic Park in Grevershki. We also wanted a more spacious Simlympic park to give that “green” feel.
-Of course, not all of the stadiums are built yet. There is still the rowing, archery, cycling and other sporting venues that will be built only in the case Chihiro is chosen to host. The rowing and archery venues will be in Avenida Vista, while shooting and mountain cycling will be in the city of Predeccia. These two cities are also partner Simlympic cities. Both cities are going under extensive city-wide renovations.
-But if Chihiro does get to host and by November these two cities doesn’t pass the King’s Test(a thorough investigation done by the king and his court on the city’s cleanliness, pollution, crime, parks, etc,.), then the venues will be built in the Petrovan Simlympic Park in Grevershki.

Why is the Olympic Complex smaller in contrast to its rival Olympic Complexes in other cities?
-Because our goal is to be as realistic as possible to the actual Olympics, and in real life, most Olympic Greens and Complexes aren't that huge. They only take up a small amount of space in proportion to the city. Instead of having all of the venues in one place, we decided to use some of our cities(Predeccia and Avenida Vista) for some events. We also wanted to let our spectators explore the city so some of the venues are deep into the city. There is also the Petrova Simlympic Park in Grevershki, which is home to several indoor stadium as well as the National Stadium.

What happens if Chihiro isnt chosen to host?
-As we said in our speech at the last post, no matter the results of the session in Paranor Island, we Petrovars are still proud of what we've accomplished. Chihiro can only grow even stronger and we have a lot more to look forward to. We can certainly look forward to another memorable simlympics in December. There are still other major events scheduled in the country such as the Miss SimUniverse, World Pyro Olympics, Eurovision and concerts around the city.

What happens if Chihiro is chosen to host?
-Well, there is the expected celebrations, then the following day, the Chihiro Simlympic Commitee will be meeting to disscuss what to do. But other than that, I can't reveal anymore. But do expect one thing, it will truly be the dream games along with Beijing, Penthesili and Athens.

To the International Simlympic Committee,
We hope you accept our bid to host the December Dream Games. We might not have the grand fountains and spaciousness of Penthesili, or the Greek spirit of Ylmeria but what we will be promising are priceless memories that will be in the hearts of our visitors, athletes and guests for the rest of their lives. The Simlympics is truly a spectacular moment in history and in the future for it is one of the things that keeps us all united regardless of race, age, gender, nationality or religion. No matter the results following the next ISC session, we Petrovars have a sense of pride and gratitude for the fact that we have established our lifetime goal: to make our country known to the world.

Salamat,
King Dmitry, His Royal Highness
Prince Matthias, Dauphin of Petrova
Queen Vera, Her Royal Highness
Katalina Ishtar, Princess of Petrova
Danhi Olis, Petrovar Minister of Athletics
Petr Reyes, Minister of Tourism
