The Beggining of Perthshire History

In the begging, there were two tribes that owned the island of Laurel in the North Pacific. The Ludmilla tribe and the Perthshire tribe were the dominant forces in the north Pacific as they easily pushed off invaders from Japan and China. The two tribes lived in seclusion from the world and knew nothing but themselves and the invaders from the land of the rising sun.

The year was 300BC the Perthshire tribe has crowned a new leader King Hazo a hunter warrior who has grown up on the shores of Laurel. There he watched his armies fight of the Japanese 20 years earlier leaving the sands soaked blood red. Hazo knows nothing but war and absolute power over those around him. His loyalty to the king before him, King Minerly aloud him great harvest and a large chunk of land that was once the famous battle ground. There he built his armies up and advanced on King Minerly, with out a single sword swung Minerly dropped to his knees and presented the crown to Hazo and then as if on cue fell to his death with out saying another word. Hazo ordered his men to go get help for the former king and left him alone in his chamber until help came. But when they arrived all they found was a large pile of ash spread where the king fell to his death. It is said that the men who witnessed this turned to Hazo and knelled before him addressing him as the Phoenix king.

Perhtshire: The land of the Golden Phoenix Phoeni11

Across the island the Ludmilla tribe was suffering greatly and a new leader too had been crowned. King Glinka had sized power in a bloody revolt that had left most of the former bureaucracy dead. Glinka was named the Son of Fire often being acclaimed for killing his former ruler with a sword of fire.

Perhtshire: The land of the Golden Phoenix Sword_12

In both Perthshirian and Ludmillian cultures the sword was the way to power and fire was the way of life. The members of the island studied a unique religion that found salvation through the martial arts and through self meditation. Every male was well trained in the martial arts and the sword was the ultimate goal. Your coming of age was to win a sword fight against a fellow student. Each student made there own sword from the rich iron in the hills of the island and used the massive natural gas furnaces on the island made of clay and fired with the massive natural gas resource on the island. The two forces were a balance, the sword powerful, and graceful but cold andcould kill, the fire was warm and cooked food for life... but was wild and out of control. It was felt that the two combined created the perfect harmony in which one could live a perfectly balanced life.

For women life was all about fire, the center of the home is the fire place. Larger the fire place the more money you had, if it was burned with wood you were lower class, if it was burned with gas you were higher class. The fire represented life and therefore was the focal point of the household. Women were taught at an early age how to respect fire and its power, stories of strange rituals of young girls having there pubic hair burned as a right of passage were tossed around but never confirmed like there male counterparts. Women lived a very quiet life and were aloud to do what they wanted amongst other women but stayed quiet with men unless the man was there husband. Large families were also quite common in Perthshirian and Ludmillian cultures. Both cultures made sure that women gave birth at fire side it was said that the strength of the fire would be burned into the infant if he or she was born along side the flame. Women were also taught a form of martial art to mirror that of there male counterparts. While the Male form was about power and routing one's self to the earth the womans was about light, speed and grace.

Children lived a life of more openness with each other than most cultures at that time. Children were not given clothing until 8 for boys or 13 for girls. Boys received more or less an iron cup to protect there loins as there training became more violent, girls received a head band signifying they were of marrying age. The headband which was died red was worn around the girls hair holding it in a bun allowing men the full view of the girls face and body as they felt it was only through seeing the girl of your dreams from forehead to foot could a man truly be in love with her. Women though had more rights marriage wise than most cultures. Women too had to consent to the marriage often times only the two involved would have to consent to it and would vanish together from there families with out much of a word.

Through all these similarities the difference between the Ludmilla and Perthsire tribes were simply the land they called home. The Ludmilla had the northeastern corner of the island and the Perthshirian the south western. The two cultures were exactly the same on almost all levels except for one thing, the power of the Phoenix and the power of the sun. The Perthshirian tribe found the Phoenix to be the supreme figure of fire to be the Phoenix a powerful bird of fire that they claim rose from the ashes of the sun to create the earth. The Ludmilla say that the earth was formed by the sun as it spewed out hot gas to create the stars and the earth. As the two sides separated further and further on that one belief they called themselves two separate tribes but never really went to war with each other.

That dosnt mean there were never battles between the two, every summer and fall the dry season on the island the two tribes would have war games where groups of men roughly 10 or 20 strong would fight in sword fighting tournaments with each tribe to determine who the gods favored more. Depending on your performance at these games it would determine who got more food during the winter and honestly was a good population control on the small island with little room to expand.

Unification

With Glinka and Hazo in power the two cities saw rise in strength and prospered greatly. One day while on a hunting exposition two men made a fire in the hills in a place called Minerly Pass a pass named for the former king. Almost with out warning a large blast engulfed the mountain side. The people of Perthshire had found what would fittingly be there greatest discovery, Natural Gas.

Pertshire began to mine the gas which was far cleaner burning that wood and easier to burn because it didn't need to remain dry and could be kept in much smaller containers than large wood storage centers. Ludmilla watched this with eager eyes and saw a major disadvantage on the rise as Perthshire began to manufacture swords with greater quality in the much hotter burning stoves fueled by Natural Gas. Like anything that gave someone a stratigic advantage there enemies wanted it and the Ludmillians eyed the Natural gas mine north of Perthshire with great interest. Glinka knew it would meen taking Perthshire or loosing Ludmilla forever.

In 443 BC Glinka marched his troops to there Edge of the Minerly Pass ad began a 5 mile march through the rough mountainous terrain to Perthshire. Hazo's scouts stationed at the mine were overlooking the pass when they saw Glinka's troops advancing through the pass. They sounded warning bells immediately. In a matter of hours the troops of Perthshire had met at the narrow opening to the gas mine in preparation to stop the advancement of the Ludmillian troops. At high noon the troops of Ludmilla appeared against the horizon ready to strike and take control of the island.

The two armies squared off in the narrow exit to the Minerly pass for 3 hours fighting hand to hand with swords. After the first confrontation no clear winner was decided and the two forces retreated back to camp. Hazo realized that the two forces were too well matched and that it would take either an act of god or a new strategy to get this battle.

The next morning the sun rose to an dark orange glow the sun rose fully eclipsed over Perthshire. The Ludmillians who saw the sun as they're main god rose with strength thinking god had come down from the heavens to help them win the battle. They attacked Perthshire dirrectly ceasing the opritunity and rushing to destroy the perthshirian army while the sun god was on there side.

Hazo saw them advancing quickly and ordered his men to go half the width and twice the rank back so that the front line would have to face Ludmilla's at a 2-1 disadvantage. Ludmilla pounded the front line with renewed strength and cut deep into the Perthshirian ranks but at twice the depth the lines didnt stop coming. Soon with a large advantage in strength the Perthshirian armies were able to cut down Ludmillian troops at a rate of 4-1 pushing them back into the pass. As they began to loose the moon continued its push across the sun until it had moved almost off the edge ending the eclipse.

Perhtshire: The land of the Golden Phoenix Ringof10

Glinka ordered his troops to retreat and began a long rush back to Ludmilla, but Hazo saw victory and the ambitious king ordered his men to continue after the Ludmillian troops. They raced through the pass until they got to the Ludmillian entrance. The Perthshirian troops stopped at the site of Glink sitting at the top of pass with his men. Carrying his legendary sword of fire he rose it in order to the Ludmillian troops to destroy the pass. The men pushed in tons of rock and dirty off the top of the cliffs surrounding there entrance to the pass. A few hundred of the Perthshirian troops were killed in the falling debris but over a thousand remained intact trapped in Ludmilla.

Glinka's voice traveled over the sound of his men, "Hazo! We finish this amongst us, be in my palace in an hour"

In dramatic fashion Hazo approached the palace of Ludmilla lighting appeared from dark clouds on the horizon overlooking the pacific. A major thunderstorm was quickly approaching from the west. The two men met in the courtyard amongst a growing wind. Hazo was handed a sword dipped in oil he lit his a flame and stood across from Glinka.

The two men fought as rain began to pour down, as the kings the two were very well versed in sword fighting and were evenly matched being the masters of the craft. As the storm drew closer lighting began hitting the spires at the top of Glinka's courtyard. being made of Iron sparks flew around the two men as the tall spires were hit with bolts of lighting. The two men continued to fight for there countries despite the conditions in a legendary almost overly dramatized setting with rain pouring from the heavens and sparks flying from the spires as the two flaming swords sometimes all the soldiers on looking could see in the rain.

All of a sudden a large explosion emitted near the fighters the spire they were fighting around was hit with lightning. The soldier's were paralyzed in disbelief. As the dust cleared Glinka was no where to be found and Hazo stood bloody and tired in the rubble. The Ludmillian soldiers were stunned they fell to there knees in disbelife. Glinka was dead and Hazo had won unifying Ludmilla and Perthshire into one Perthshire.

Post by dljrfn2000 Wed Dec 10, 2008 9:52 am

Ok so Im going to take a break out of my story telling to give a bit of an update about Perthshire and this CJ

Firstly I'd like to point out the new signature made by Joe its fenominal and he's making many Flags and Banners, and things of that nature for my CJ and you will all see his handywork soon. If someone who has skills with photoshop that exceede mine would like to help me out that would be great I'd love to really make this an exciting city journal.

The rest of the history is going to be pretty generic and rush through the rest of history making stops in important parts of history like some fictional wars with Japan and China. Beating Colonization, The Russo Japan War, WWII and the cold war upto modern times.

This should finish around New Year and if all goes well I'll be starting to post pictures of the city around the first or second week of January. Im going to start by showing you how Perthshire's highly complicated government works starting with The Port Authority, Transit, and Monarchy and moving to other things as it gets in look for maybe a bi monthly update schedule for this 'chapter' of the CJ this should last a while and allow me to really get Perthshire finished and cleaned.

Chapter 2 will deal with Perthshire University and Perhtshire Tech the two colleges on the island and will be a short chapter showing off there history and campuses.

Chapter 3 I'll give you a look at the cultural centers of Perthshire This should roll in about may or so and that's when I should start to put it into high gear expect weekly updates then.

Chapter 4 Starting in the summer look for bi weekly to daily updates I'm gonna do a mini series on Perthshire's politicians, the King, the Heads of the various departments and show how they got to power and be the fat rich fools they are today lol

Chapter 5 will be mid Jume maybe late June look for a whole chapter on Perthshire's bid for the August games!

Chapter 6 pending a win in the games it will be about how Perthshire runs the games behind the posts in the Simlympic Section.

At this point things get well kinda fuzzy IDK where I am going to school next year yet so I could still be home, or I could be about an hour away from my house and IDK if I'll even have SC4 on my computer in school or anytime for that matter. I hope I have the time and the stuff to do it if not its been nice playing and Perthshire is gonna go asleep for a while until I'm ready to make some posts again. So that's how Perthshire stands if all goes well

Ok so I completely demolished the Perthshire I was building and I am going to construct it using the Maxisland region on my laptop here. I loaded Sim City 4 (with out Rush Hour) on to it and I cried it was so massively Pathetic. Probably the saddest thing I've ever seen, how did we ever build cities like that? Im dowloading Rush Hour as we speak and then I'll put down the base streets for Perthshire and set up some basic structures and my cities etc. Then tommorow I'll do some more work and then monday I'll take a break to watch the bowl games I've tivoed and maybe in the afternoon do more work teausday I'll add some of the last little trinkets and then maybe by new years midnight local time I'll put her up (a CJ in 4 days.....) but that is pending if I go to the casino with my gf and my family for New Years if I do it will be up Next Weekend

out of curiosity did you by chance save the region files in a back up? cause if you did you can always tranfer them into the game anywhere trust me I've done that countless times with Rorysville in fact thats how I kept m,ost of the cities when I migrated Each State into it's own region

The Kings Office today has announced a one day postponing of the SC Summit due to a death in the family of the head designer for the event. (In actuality my dad just wont let me use his computer where Perthshire is located so I have to wait until Monday) the schedule will remain the same just on the 5th-7th instead of the 4th-6th. Thank you

PS: Please RSVP to the event if you have a country to get recognized in attendance

Perthshire:
Queen in waiting Lin-Shia Yammamoto today made several announcements about the state of Perthshire. The 17 year old queen in waiting has announced a total urban renewal plan that will spend over 32 Billion American Dollars the expected profit in the next 20 years will produce profits in the trillions of dollars for the Metropolitan Perthshire area and around the country.

1. This morning Japanese car manufacturer Toyota announced it would take over struggling Perthshirian car manufacture Феникс (Phoenix) in the next week.

2. Perthshire will make a bid to host the October and December simlympic games. Possibly even back to back, but the plan right now will be for October first and if failed December.

3. Over half of the downtown Perthshire area will be destroyed and rebuilt in the next 4 game years (about 2 months)

4. The Perthsherian Airport’s terminal will be rebuilt for about 2.74 million dollars.

Today Perthshire has a few announcements,

Perthshire is coming out with a 2.0 version for this summer. A rebuilt nation built entirely from scratch is well underway and most of the city is nearing completion. This will be my final re-doing of Perthshire or of any nation what so ever. (RIP: Delkon Forrest, and Perthshire 1.0) Once this is completed my CJ will officially begin and will be more of a CJ than just a random glimpse at my city. There will be story line to go with it and such and with some help I look to create a news paper and other things to go with it and help the standing of Perthshire.

I look forward to the G-10 summit in Novland and look forward to discussing the issues at hand in the SC world.

Thank you for your kind words, since I'm revamping my CJ at the AIN Forums I'll post this here.

Queen Lin-Shia of Perthshire has made a request to the leaders and to the members of nations in the Asia for this coming week. As many may know on the morning of the 22nd a Full Solar Eclipse will occur over India and a partial over many other nations in south eastern Asia. Many in the Astroligical community, including members of the Royal Board here in Perthshire have warned there leaders about impeding disasters that are related to the eclipse and the location of the planet Saturn in the night sky. I urge all leaders of the Nations in Asia to be relaxed and to treat this warning with skepticism. Do keep in mind that my family's rule began as a result of a Solar Eclipse and it was that Solar eclipse that unified the two great tribes on our island into one nation. While the Solar eclipse has been an oman of bad for many it is a sign of rebirth for the Perthsherians! Treat this time as a time of rebirth and not prepare yourself for doomsday. It was only because the nations of Europe had built up there arms that WWI had started, its only when people expect things to go bad do they go bad on the world stage. I urge all for the peace of the world to ignore these omans and see it as our nation sees it not as a sign of death and decay but as the great bird of the sun the Phoenix dying into ash and being reborn.
