Earth Hour 2009
Earth Hour is an international campaign to spread the awareness of global warming.
What it does is that any cities wish to participate will encourage its people to switch off their lights for 1 hour from generally 8:30 pm at their local timing, depending on their own timing.
As the years goes by, the number of participating cities grew, beginning from only Bangkok in 2005, made famous by Sydney in 2007, and the number of countries grew to 35 countries with over 400 cities last year.
And now, Earth Hour is back, and even larger. 82 countries, 2100 cities. Earth Hour 2009 is the biggest eve participation yet.
So, let's spread the message to the SimCity community of COFR, AIN and SimSports.
On March 28 2009 at 8:30pm of your own timezone, post some snapshots of your CJ with your buildings' lights off. Post anything, be creative. Make sure it happens during night-time!

Re: Earth Hour 2009
Toronto's waterfront is about 95% residential, and last earth hour it wasnt spectacular. (Although that last image you posted looks neat, and hey, I can see my building in that picture..) Hopefully that changes this year.
Re: Earth Hour 2009
Well, Earth Hour isn't meant to be spectacular. Unneccesary lights, which includes floodlights, will be switched off, so, less energy consumed. Thus saving the Earth.
