Duwamish: The Green Republic (COFR)
Welcome to Duwamish
Welcome to your guided tour of Duwamish, nicknamed the Green Republic. Thank you for landing at Dawson Municipal Airport, currently the only airport in Duwamish, that is until Project Airway is completed later this year. As you can see, the facilities are not quite modern and we are in need of relief.
Here's a little map of Duwamish and a satillite view...d'oh!
Let's take a tour of Dawson, the national capital. Here you see the 90,000-seat Dawson Stadium, constructed for the local DSL club. The DSL, or Duwamish Soccer League, is a league of 10 soccer teams around Duwamish.
Here's some of the more suburban areas of Duwamish, full of medium-sized homes and the rare mansion.
Let's cross over D3 (the local freeway) and head on over into Downtown. You can also see the local rail station that's sunken.
Tada! A big skyscraper forest, second only to Kalama on the coast!
Here's the Duwamish Capitol Building, housing the 64-member Senate and Supreme Court.
The President of Duwamish, Bruce Martin, lives and works here at the James Estate.
Next time, we'll explore the west coast!

Before we move on to the west coast...let's say one last goodbye to Dawson with a little tour...
Here's the University of Dawson main quad
Just east of the quad
The quad at night
The UD Arena at night, which the university uses for basketball and hockey and two professional sports teams also use.
A last look at Downtown Dawson at night
Here's the bridge leading into the largest city in Duwamish...

Re: Duwamish: The Green Republic (COFR)
Well, we've finally arrived in the Big Peninsula: Kalama. Let's take a tour of the city's sports stadiums, because landmarks are sooooo overated.
Here's the University of Kalama, essentially a rival of the University of Dawson.
A little southeast of the university sits the 80,000-seat Kalama Stadium, which serves soccer and American football.
The university has its own stadium, the Koalas Stadium. The University's sports teams are named the Koalas.
The Kalama Pumas play at the newer Pumas Ballpark, just east of Koalas Stadium. It has a wonderful view of the Kalama Bridge.
North of Pumas Ballpark is the indoor Koalas Arena, also used by the University of Kalama.
Time for some night shots! Let's start with Kalama Stadium...
Now, Koalas Stadium at night...
Unfortunately, I couldn't get the Ballpark and Arena at night, so here's a postcard!

Re: Duwamish: The Green Republic (COFR)
The Simlympic Torch Relay has officially started! The torch has been lit, now it must endure a world-wide trip to Chihiro, Petrova. The Kalama City Hall displays the big torch moments before the lightning.
Crowds gather by Kalama Stadium to watch the torch pass by.
Dorm dwellers come out of their homes to watch the torch go through their university.
The crowds now stop as the torch leaves Kalama, over the Duwamish River.
Its arrived in Dawson! University of Dawson students come out in large numbers to welcome the relay!
Passing the Mall Canals, the crowds become larger and larger...
President Bruce Martin has joined in! The crowd cheers!
Looks like the relay train is a bit late...
Fast forward a bit...now we're crossing the Skagit River!
The good people of Tulalip greet the torch! Its almost over!
Main Street is over-run with crowds! Almost to the end!
The 747 taking the torch to Shushtrepistaz has arrived!
The plane has crossed over into Illu'a! Fireworks go off in Dawson!
K50Dude - Thanks!

Re: Duwamish: The Green Republic (COFR)
Bruce, why can't you keep a city journal for more than 3 months
I'm a bit confused though, are you leaving or is your city journal leaving?
