Do you think ISC will allow Cities XL bids for hosting the Simlympics ?

Re: Win a CitiesXL beta key
I would hope so since it appears this will follow up Sim City 4 and ultimately replace it in our libraries much as Sim City 4 did for Sim City 3000 and Sim City 2000 respectively. I would expect them to wait until XL became more of a common place but this should be interesting I don't think the SC world has seen a change like this before.

Re: Win a CitiesXL beta key
Well i know i won't judge any differently based on XL or SC4
I also know I won't be playing XL My computers won't be able to handle it they barely can handle SC4 and I don't want to restart all that I've done in Rorysville

Re: Win a CitiesXL beta key
I've managed to play it. But it's NDA'd so not allowed to talk about it I'm afraid .
And as for citiesXL cities bidding, all depends on custom content.

Re: Win a CitiesXL beta key
After reading a fair amount of stuff on Simtropolis I think I might pass until I see some screens from you guys and get some solid feedback. It appears this is falling under the Simsonline genre of great online ideas that are just doomed to fail. Sim City in an online setting is a great concept (we pull it off here with a 'world' very well I think) but when people have to start paying monthly fee's it better be a kick ass game like WOW or it's going to fail miserably. MC made a good attempt from what I can see... but unless they go back to more of the Cities Unlimited idea with a strong single player with multi option it's all over. The lack of a region play is a step back for many users and no teriforming kills it totally. I say valient effort on the part of MC but SC4, despite its many flaws was much closer to what we as a community wants than SCS and XL will ever be. Once the builders of these games realize that the City Building game is that of a single player 1 world with a good solid group of BATers that can build custom content and is not a major money maker it will never thrive. Maxis was smart enough to realize this and made SC4 to that specification with what they had in note from the first 3 games.
The way I see it right now, unless Mac, and Windows make an operating system that we can't play SC4 on, until the economy improves and companies like maxis, or MC are able to make minor profiting games with maybe a few expansion packs SC4 will remain our game of choice.

Completely agree with that statement
Re: Win a CitiesXL beta key
Wait... how can I win a code? I've heard it's a great game, but, I hear also that it has bugs as well. I want to experiment that along with SC4. Can someone help me?
Re: Win a CitiesXL beta key
A few weeks back they were giving out codes. I managed to grab two so I decided to give the spare one out to the most active participant during the July games. Just deciding now who won it .

Re: Win a CitiesXL beta key
Heh... I might join in the August games since the July Olympiad is underway, or shall I join in that Olympiad as a latecomer?
Re: Win a CitiesXL beta key
There's no Games in August. I think bidding starts on the 1st of August for the October Games.

Re: Win a CitiesXL beta key
Oh well, I already started my bid, and there are like 2 months for me to work on my CJ even further to make it really presentable for the bidding process. One word of warning: the region you will see might make you feel "addictive" that you might want to go back to my blog...

So who is actually the lucky winner of the key ?
