Summer 2009 Simlympics and paralimpics,

ofcourse its a bit early, but we have to complete a entire region,
out of nothing in the netherlands, so our bid goes for the summer 2009,

Alkmaar is at the moment the biggest city of the Netherlands,
with more the 700.000 sims in it, and still growing almost No crime
perfect healthcare system,low tax rates(0,1%) the subway is the most used
transport utility, also the bus and the glr are very popular, but do you realy want to see the heart of the city the you have to use the monorail, for the outeredge of the city there lies a good and effecient railnetwork stretching around the city,

I think that you might be able to do it if you build a nice simolympic park, venues and city. Everyone can do it. Give the best that you got and who knows….

I hope I didn't offend you Mikeyh (my cities looked like that for years), but I'm just being realistic. You just need to make more realistic, believable cities. Firstly, Maxis airports are a no no (if you ask me), so are regions almost completely zoned to high density residential full of maxis buildings. I'm really just trying to give you honest, constructive criticism.

I agree with craig.....however let's not forget that simcity is firs of all a game, it is correct that the people create what they likes most and what their imagination says.....if it will be a proper city to host the Simlympics will be decided by the ISC

I gotta go with Craig, this region needs, a huge overhaul before the ISC would even consider this as a finalist. It reminds me of Simcity2000

I agree also with Craig, on the most part. My cities were like that but you just need to experiment. Maxis airports can work well depending on their positioning

Ok, I agree with the majority, yet I disagree. I think that the idea of a city with only huge skyscrapers is great, cuz after all, that might be the future. And who said that every city made in sim city had to follow a real life city? Sure, the ISC is looking for realistic looking buildings, but if you look around, tall buildings are starting to dominate what we now call a realistic city. But I also agree with craig, cuz the airport is definitely a no no. I mean if you're going to build a city with only condos and skyscrapers, then don't you think that the airplanes are going to have a hard time landing in the airport? I'm not trying to be mean, but just giving a little friendly advice.

yeah you got a point on that, but I placed that airport before those skyscapers came up

as I look at it more this has the potential to be a good bid. A strong simlympic green around the stadium and a bigger airport will make this a sold bid.

you can built an airport in an adjacent tiles , it's an option.

it's an option and a good one the best bet with Airports is building them in open areas usually on the outskirts of town

This is a special design for the Simlympic Village, we constructed it in record time,
but what do you expect when 350.169 people worked 24/7, we started with 350.200 people, during a explosion 31 people got killed/injured, we honour those who lost their lives, we made a memorial park for them, just behind the burj dubai.

actually thats it, the rest of it will be forest, people of our capital city Alkmaar,
use the HSR from alkmaar to here, also other surrounding villages/City's use the
HSR to get to the hart of the simlympic City, the only vehicles that drive there are taxi,bus, police/firetrucks/ambulance. our hotels have a capacity of hosting 200.000 geusts, simlympic teams have their own hotels, every atlete gets a nice sportingbag full of little suprises/gifts from the royal Family of the Netherlands

right now I'd classify this as a dark horse bid.... like Penthsilli it could come out and stun the world
