Newport's ski slope/resort is now completed! This is not the final product; but it is pretty close to it. This slope would not be for biathalon or luge/skeleton, but will be for cross country. The building at the bottom of the finish line of the slope is one of the many media center; there is also one at the top of the slope. The building just to the left is the ski lodge; where athletes would prepare for the events; it has a restaurant, lounge area, and locker room. The building to the far right is the ski rental lodge, which athletes will pick up their equipment from. There is a bus shuttle that will take them from the lodge, to the rental building, to the media center, if it is necessary. Also, at the ski lodge, there will be a subway center that will take athletes from the slopes back to the athletes village in Northeast Newport. This ski resort is in East Newport.

Our opening/closing ceremonies would be held at the Justice Center on Roanoke Avenue; this is located in Northeast Newport.

Indoor events such as skating would be held here in Windspear Arena, located beside the Justice Center on Roanoke Avenue; this is located in Northeast Newport.

More to come soon, including our transportation system and our attractions of the Newport area.

As promised, our transportation system and attractions will be presented, but first I have placed the remaining stadiums, and I have included a bonus. Also, the athlete's village is coming along smoothly, an update is also in this post.

The hockey arena:

The speed skating arena:

A media plaza:

Also, in the coming updates, I will include a map of the proposed Olympic area as a whole.

I have a pic of all the Newport area. The ski slope is pretty easy to spot, and I think the stadiums in Northeast Newport are easy to spot too. This will give you a rough idea of where everything is. (The greenish topped building to the Southwest of the area, at the very bottom closest to the bridge, is not a stadium in the bid)

Here is a look at Newport's area attractions. Since Newport is the capital of Rep. of Roanoke Island, the Capitol Center is a popular attraction of Newport.

This castle was used a very long time ago (1000 years) for government. It was discovered about 25 years ago in the Eastern part of the region wedged between a mountain range. Just recently, it has been placed in its final resting place in Northeast Newport, beside the current capitol. Tours are available to everyone, and it is free since it is a National Historic Site.

At the Capitol, there are three white buildings. The one on the far left is the Supreme Court and President's Residence. The building on the top right is a memorial to those who have won the Peace and Honor Badges. It is a walk-through exhibit; and all are welcome. In the building on the bottom right, all Representatives meet from Rep. of Roanoke Island. Tours are available for those who make reservations far in advance, and are cleared by the Newport Federal Agent Center.

Here is the Museum of Roanoke Island history. It contains loads of artifacts from all time periods, even before Rep.of Roanoke Island was officially a nation. All tickets are free, but you must get them in advance.
