AINTV. 30 minutes ago.

The entire nation of Petrova is in party mode after the ISC has decided to give the hosting rights of the XIII Simlympiad to the country. The country beat two other nations vying for the hosting rights.

“We are so thankful that we get to repay this wonderful community after they have done so much. Simsports has truly been our home and has helped this nation get back on its feet. I think we really deserved to host this. Petrova is definitely ready for August! I actually said everyone close down your shops, don’t go to school, go home and celebrate! Petrova is on national orders for party mode for the entire day!” says King Andre IV of Petrova.

“The Petrova Simlympics will bring back the games to its glory. We will be going deep into our roots, so expect to see a little Penthesili, Ylmeria, New Rhodesia and the other past hosts fused into these modern 2010 August Games. The first thing the Petrova Simlympic Committee will be doing is to get started on promotions throughout the simworld. Then the Petrova Opening Ceremony Committee will be meeting in two days to start discussing the welcoming show. We are really going to hit the ballpark with this one!” says Victor Sari Devi, President of the Petrova Simlympic Bidding Committee.

The King has ordered for shops and schools to close down for the day and for everyone to celebrate. This is the second time consecutively that AIN has hosted the Simlympics. The first time was Sarnia City hosting the XII Simlympics.

Aside from the Simlympics, the country is also hosting another major event, Ainvision 2010. Ordona, a suburb of Chihiro, is hosting the song contest this month.

A major issue and controversy surrounding the Simlympics is the downfall and declining interest of the games as well as the declining activity within the forums. The ISC has denied these false accusations. Petrova says that, that is their first priority which is to pump the people up for the games. Promotional posters, signatures, avatars and advertisements will be posted all over the simworld by the middle of this week. Ticket prices, more information on the Opening Ceremony Committee and Medals will be posted in the coming days. According to Peter Reyes, Prime Minister of Petrova, "one of the goals is to make this the most watched sim event of the summer!". Petrova hopes to get people from Simtropolis, SCJU, AIN, N. America, Asia, Europe, SimCity Devotion, and other union and sites to participate and watch these games of the XIII Simlympiad.

Here is a snippet from last night's Quandt Final Report (a program on QSN, Quandt Sports Net):

"And now to next month's Simlympics. After three nations vied to host the August Simlympics, the ISC picked only one. The host for the upcoming Simlympics: Chihiro, Petrova. During the Simlympics, you will see several events live here on QSN."
