Freddiesburg is the capital of Lappland and also the largest city in the country.
Lappland is a small country located way up north, several miles north of the Arctic Circle and it’s sparsely populated due to the harsh and cold climate which last all year round.
Despite the poor location and the harsh climate the country is very wealthy thanks to the large amount of natural resources throughout the country.

But because of that, Lappland has a very violent history. Since the discovery, many different countries have claimed the land, along with the resources, as their own with several great wars as a result. Caught in the middle of the conflict between the Great Powers were the native people of Lappland, the Vikings. After decades of war the Vikings finally had enough of these endless fights over something none of them actually owned. So they came together and fought back, claiming the land to be rightfully theirs and declared Lappland as an independent state. A majority of countries in the world community supported the Vikings and did recognize Lappland as an independent state. Now, the Great Powers could no longer continue the war without turning the whole world against them so therefore the war finally ended.

Today, Lappland has banned all foreign companies from exploiting the natural resources in the country to avoid new conflicts of interest and the country also has a very tough legislation for exploitation of natural resources in general because preserving of the nature always comes first and a major investment in new green technology has been made.
Last year, both Lappland and Freddiesburg gained status as GreenTech Country respectively City and are now honored members of UGTCC (United GreenTech Countries and Citys).
Because of that, Freddiesburg also gained more popularity amongst the tourists and has now made it to the very top of the top-list over the most popular destinations above the Arctic Circle.

The white background - represents the ice and snow which covers the land almost all year round.
The turquoise line - represents the sky and the polar lights which is very often visible at night when the sky is dark.
The green line - represents the many lush forests.
The black circle - represents two things. The, so to seem, eternal darkness at wintertime when the sun never rises and the dark history of the country.
The orange circle - represents the midnight sun. At summertime, the sun never sets.
The reindeer - is the National animal and the most common one to be found in the wild.

The construction of the new arena is finally finished and the grand opening was held on December 14. The arena hasn’t been named yet and the Mayor has announced a public competition where everyone who wants to can send in their suggestions. A final decision will be made by a jury on December 30 and then presented on New Year’s Eve at the annual New Year’s Eve Concert which this year will be held in the new arena. This is the 6th arena ever built in Freddiesburg and if the city will be designated to host the III Winter Simlympics, this will be the main arena where the opening ceremony of the games will be held.

Wensday - is a consolidation of 5 bus operating companies.
West-East Buslink, N2S Buses, Everyday Coaches, Starbus and Freddiesburg BusCom. Each company had its own routes that covered different parts of Freddiesburg. But when the city grew, the complaints about the inconvenient bus system increased in numbers. The CEOs from each company had a meeting in the Mayor’s office to discuss how to improve the bus system and after weeks of negotiations all parties concerned agreed to a consolidation. Now, with only one major bus operating company in the city, it is much easier to go from one end of the city to another when you don’t have to change bus in every district.
