To philly_boy: Singapore Airlines SQ 332 and SQ 333. It took almost 12 hours (i think) as I was going on a student exchange from Singapore to Paris and vice versa. It happen during November 2008.

to Petrovan: Erm...world peace? But what I really want is that I want peace in my family. Everyday, there is bound to have quarrels. It's common in singapore life. It would be best that Santa could give me that. Unfortunately, Santa is not real...or is he real?

Now (does that allows me to give out 2 questions? I guess not), how about what was the shortest flight you were ever on? And what do you not want for Christmas?

Shoertest flight i was on: Thessaloniki to Athens (thessaloniki is where i live) - lasted for 45 minutes. It was the best flight ever! Dark sky, the stars, small plane (olympic airlines), and i could see the city lights from above. Just wonderful!

Talking of christmas, here is a hilarious greek tv ad for a toyshop:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4A4g1fmpHLk

It says: Dear Sants, I am little Electra. This year I want an electric kitchen, a piano, and a horse. a brown one. and a carrage! A golden one! And a few princes would be nice. I love you santa! I love you as far as the sky! (greek expression).

Then it says: If Santa won't get the glory... Why not get the toys cheaper? Jumbo!

What was the stupidest thing you ever said in class?

One of the best was this:

Last summer, we called my cellphone company and said:

Me: Hi, my name is Michael Dimitriou. Eh, my child has a cellphone and I have seen that you have a certain function called Erotica... Ehm, would it be possible that you block it on his number because you know how teens are... Their right hand is their best friend... So ehem, could you block it on his number please?

the ladie at the other end of the line: one-moment-sir... you and your stupid porn films...!

And then we all started laughing - it was SOOOOOO funny the was she said it, we were laughing for a quarter of an hour!!!

Funniest movie u ever saw?

All About You - Page 3 Empty Re: All About You

Post by Aranho Thu Dec 18, 2008 6:42 pm

I got to say a Singapore's film called Money No Enough 2. It very funny I tell you, but it is also a film with a serious message.

The plot is that 3 married sons were having a financial difficulties (and tried to earn money by going to the extremes like selling illegal health supplies) of their own and each of them take turns to take care of their mother who was about 70, 80 plus years old. The mother was then forced to move between the 3 sons house, but never complain to them about this despite feeling hurt.

Then one fine day, the three sons decided to put her in a elderly home. At first, she was tricked that she was going to a place fun for the elderly, but when reached to the home and realised that it was an elderly home, she cried to one of her son who was present at that time, begging him to take her home. Despite this, the son walk away and the mother fainted.

She was then taken to the hospital by her son and all of the other sons rushed to hospital to visit her. Meanwhile, in one of the sons' family, their daughter and wife had a car accident, leaving the daughter in a severe condition. The daughter was rushed into the hospital, and it happens to be in the same hospital with the 70, 80 years old mother. The daughter then needed a blood transfusion, but her blood type is O, but there's only two packs of O blood type bags in the hospital. The 70, 80 years old mother happens to have the remaining last two O blood type bags.

When the daughter's parents (the father is one of the three sons) found out about this, they rushed to the 70, 80 years old mother side and snatched the blood bag from her. This caused the three sons to quarrel with each other. The 70, 80 years old mother saw this and sacrifice her life just to safe the daughter's life by pulling out the wires on her. The 70, 80 years old mother then passed away almost immediately, and the three sons know that they have done a lot of wrong things to their mother.

The movie is very touching that tears run down my cheeks. But it was also funny. Here's a video of one of the most funniest part of the film:

There are also other funny parts (like when the 70, 80 years old mother woke up in the middle of the night and ask her son to help her find a mickey mouse red bra or she can't sleep. After searching for like one to two hours, she suddenly realised that she was wearing it all along. They then went back to sleep, but the mother ask his son again on the same night to help her find her black bra.), but I can't find them on YouTube.

Speaking about this topic, is your family rich?

Unfortunately, no.

Are you shocked? Shocked

It may be due to the fact that my family is poor (but not in poverty). But maybe we celebrate it by watching local Christmas celebrations live on television.

Have you seen my CJ, Raffore Islands? If so, do you like it?

I don't think that if anyone was rich he would say so Razz Personally, my family belongs to the upper middle class, as both my parents are doctors and my dad is also a professor at the University. My school is kinda expensive, cuz its private, we go on vacations, 5* hotels and such, me and my sis spend a considerable amount of $$$ (well actually euros Razz) on clothes and stuff (dad actually says that "money doesnt grow in the garden" and we have to relax a bit Embarassed ) but no, we're not rich...

Christmas!! We celebrate x-mas in Greece Very Happy We usually go on vacation. A couple of years ago we went to England (London), but last year we didn't go anywhere (both my grandfathers died a while before x-mas vacations so we cancelled our trip to Scotland of Russia). We're not going anywhere this x-mas (BUT mom and dad promised we'd go on vacations this summer!!), as I just came back from Boston a few days ago Razz (Will post pics in the appropriate section of the forums Wink)

Aranho, yes i love your city journal!! I really wanna see some more pictures on the COFR forums Very Happy

If you want to see more, go to this promotional post for Raffore Islands on COFR forum here: http://z15.invisionfree.com/COFR/index.php?showtopic=488. alternatively, you can go to this soon-to-be-closed-down thread on Simtropolis to see more about the old Raffore Islands: http://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=36&threadid=100423&startpage=1.

And to your question, I'm a secondary student (or a high school student in American terms). I'm currently in Secondary 3 (I'll be Secondary 4 next year) and will be taking a very important examination (GCSE O-Levels) next year to determine if I can continue my education or not.

Talking about education, if you have the chance of going to an university, will you choose a Singaporean University? If not, what university do you wish to go?

Oh. Sorry. My mistakes. I tend to misinterpret questions. Razz My bad.

So, I'm usually a quiet student, only talking to those people I know more (like my friends and, near the second half of the year, my classmates). My school results are not that bad. Recently been failing my additional maths, geography, history and social studies (that's half of the subjects I'm studying! The other four are english, maths, chemistry and physics. I'm also studying basic chinese but it not counted for my O-Levels).

So now, did you experience any near to death experience before (I nearly fell over a cliff twice during climbing).

here's another question: what was the most disgusting thing you have ever seen, that possibly made you throw up?

my answer: the video 1 guy, 1 cup. WARNING: DONT WATCH IT! i watched it today, thinking its some joke, but that made me throw up and now i am traumatized, seriously. Shocked its basically this guy putting a jar up his *** and, well you can guess what happens next.
