Located within the Country of Victoria, the region of Greater Exmouth has grown to become the centre of commerce, culture and industry in the country. All sporting venues are within easy reach of the highway system, with the majority within easy reach of exisiting or propsed public transport

Fog
The fog which makes regular appearances in the morning, it usually burns up before it can cause any disruption. It is a regular in the city and has grown to be sentimental for any Melbournian. It is must commonly referred to as Old Faithful, 'she' the fog always makes appearances and the only time she did not was during the heatwave of 1983

The City
Part of the CBD, the mixture of styles of architecture, from classic old, to cutting-edge new
The Plaza of Independence
A section of the CBD a night
Along the north-western edge of the Simlympic Park are the pre-war apartment buildings. These were built when space was at a premium and now seemlessly mesh with the surrounding contemporary architecture.
Another example of the mixture of architectural styles. This is what creates the interest around the city. The way the new has managed to grow from the old. Therer isn't there history of European cities, but there is a history of development, of the advancements of society. THe city is reminicent of many Australian and American cities, the focal CBD surrounded by sprawling suburbs. A mixture of architectural styles, confusing road layouts which add character, and all the small intricasies that make a city live.
The theatre district, with the Regal Theatre and National Theatre
The urban sprawl the characterises the city
The Royal Apalatian, the grandest and most spectacular hotel in the city
The oldest university in the nation of Victoria, founded in 1736.

Re: Melbourne Bid
The convergence of all the lines is to represent all the nations coming together in one event for one cause. And it also looks similar to the athletics track.

Re: Melbourne Bid
This bid from Melbourne is aimed at promoting environment awareness. This is why most sporting facilities are surrounded by trees, the trees act as carbon sinks to off-set the concrete used in construction. But the project as a whole has been economical and sustainable. Only a few new facilities have to be built whilst the others just need refurbishment. The city believes that it is important to promote sustainability and the use of resources that are readily available.
