STHL-Looking at the Master Schedule trying to figure out what games go where I realsied in oredr to fit this season in in less than 6 months(which if I just went off the schedule is how long it'd take for the regular season)theyre may be some days where your team plays 2 games in 1 day(of updating in the sim it's not 2 in a day so the fatigue won't be any different) I realise the sillyness of that but in all reality there is 869 Games in the season and we are at 103 so the chart goes like this
March-280 games to be played
April-276 games to be played
May-183 games to be played
February will see 131 Games

The All Star Game will fall in Mid-April

Playoffs will start Mid-Late May and probally run till the end of June( abit far but hey this season started late(next season will start in the right frame))

I can completely understand that, good to see you've figured it all out. Next few months are gonna be huge for the STHL, hopefully we get some hockey nuts over here to watch it unfold.

Edit: I know next to nothing about Hockey, so do transfers happen at a similar rate to how they're happening here? In Football (Soccer), there are two transfer windows, one pre-season and one in the middle of the season, and these are the only time teams are able to buy/sell players. Also, in Football the top players go for huge sums of money (£10 000 000 buys you an average premiership player), are the costs involved in transfers similar in the NHL?

actually in the NHL Transfers as you'd know them run from July 1rst till April 10th(I think) in that window you can sign any player who is a free Agent( a bit different from the Transfer period) the Player then decides who they want to go to. There is also atrading period that runs from June 15th to December 22nd then December 27th to February 26th that is the only time you make trades.

Now as for volum The NHL is more active at February 26th(Deadline day) and July 1rst(UFA Signing day)

The STHL However runs Free Agent Signing Periods once a month(maybe twice) to sign free agents and cut players who you no longer want on your roster. As for Trades there will be a Trade Deadline(Aprilish)

as for the Costs in the NHL well there is a salary cap(50Million USD) most of the Pro Sports in North America use a Salary Cap MLB uses one with a Luxury Tax for teams that spend over the Cap(the Yankees,Red Sox,Mets,and now Tigers are usually paying teh penalty)the NHL,NBA,NFL have a stricter policy about going over teh cap(Don't Do it! is there policy)

Interesting. So there are no transfer costs at all? When a player is out of contract they're free to go anywhere they wish for free?

nope when a playe is out of contract he'll sign with whoever he wants for whatever they negotiate with him
example:
R.Douglas(TOR) G 2years at 4.2million per year=8.7 million total contract with bonuses
after 2 Years at that rate if I become an Unrestricted free agent then I can sign with whoever offers mne the best deal
TOR offers 4 years/20.7million(about 5.1 per year)
DET offers 2 years/12.8million(about 6.3 per year)
CHI offers 6 years/30.7million(about 5.1 per year)
so out of those 3 I'd have to choose which one I like the best and then sign with that team

in the STHL I left the Finacials out of it(for now)
