After weeks of demonstrations, protests and violence, the province of Western Cape has announced its independency from South Africa. Cape Town, the city which is expected to become the capital of the nation, was one of the three capitals of South Africa and its withdrawal from the nation will prompt a stronger movement from the South African government to keep it in place.

Western Cape is province in the west of South Africa, with a coast along the Atlantic Ocean. It is now being reffered to as Republiek van Wes-Kaap (Republic of Western Cape).

Well, not riots, but police have been called in to break up both sides.

The demonstrators supporting independence want a proper say in government, and believe the current one does not suffice. They are from all demographics in the Western Cape.
