The ISC wants you! (Again)
We're recruiting some more members (Probably 2, maybe less, maybe more), if you want to be a member of the ISC and help us decide on Simlympic issues and contribute more to the community, sign up here.
Members are expected to put time in the ISC and contribute something to the ISC and not just voting on the next host for the Simlympic. If chosen to become an ISC member you will most likely play a prominent role in promoting the Simlympics, so be sure you're able to put in the time and effort this specific role would require.
Any member who wants to bid for a position, please list your resume, list any skill you have, or comment on what you would do or why you want to be on the ISC. A simple "I'll bid" won't do.
Thanks.

Re: The ISC wants you! (Again)
Resume
-Number 12 all time poster on Simsports
-Runner of Sim Corps International
-Former Commissioner of the AINC
-First suggested the idea of the PAS
-First suggested the ideas that lead to the modern simlympic schedule
-Bid for the first and second winter games
-Bid for a summer games with Delkon Forrest
-Member of the SBL
-One of the founding members of the AIN (although sadly no longer a member )
-Vice President and Alumni Relations officer of my fraternity chapter
Skills
Based off of my resume I think my best job would be as a think tank for the ISC; essentially what I already do. One thing I'd like to see now is more help in bidding and a focus on some bidding aspects to make that more realistic. As a member of the ISC I'd look to work with other ISC members to help work on making bidding a little easier for members and promote more bids so that we'll ultimately have more bids to choose from in the games.

Re: The ISC wants you! (Again)
Allow me to present my bid for ISC membership. This is something I've wanted for a long time, and I'm thrilled to finally have the chance to be more involved in the Simlympics.
My résumé:
As for my skills and so forth, I could potentially manage the PAS and help promote the Simlympics and SimSports at both ST and SC4D, as I am a good writer. I'm also a talented lotter, so I could reduce the amount of time that the Simlympic BATters have to spend on their creations by doing the lotting and modding for them. Though this isn't really a skill, I believe I have highly realistic views on how bidding should be done and what a great bid should have, much of which comes from my own aforementioned experience in having both losing and winning bids under my belt. Also, I believe that my not currently running a sporting league would free me up to focus on things like the PAS, a close analysis of all bids, and Simlympic promotion.
My résumé:
- I bid for the December 2006 Simlympics and hosted the June 2007 Games
- I helped transfer the old Simlympic records from the old forums to the current ones, putting me high up on the site post count
- I've participated in all but two Simlympiads, and my nation (Lower Columbia) has one of the highest overall medal counts (at least AFAICT)
- I'm an editor of the new Simlympics Wiki
- I'm one of the founders and most active members of the League of Nations, having hosted the first League summit this past summer
- I maintain a popular and well-respected CJ
- I'm currently the secretary of my fraternity chapter

Alpha Gamma Omega. We're mostly a California fraternity and don't currently have any chapters on the east coast, so I wouldn't be surprised if you've never heard of us. Here's our Wikipedia article.

If I get chosen
Well, I'd like to do something related to the PAS and I've also got some ideas about bidding and sports to share with you. I'm interested in doing some statistics about the last Simlympics and an all-time medal table. Actually, I'm here many hours a day and I can do various things, so I guess there won't be any problem giving me a job.
Since I joined, in August '08, I had two big goals. To host a Simlympiad and to become an ISC member. Now, it's my chance to, finally, be part of the ISC

Thanks for all your applications. Very impressive .
This is in no way intended as a negative on your application, or on your suggestions; just to point out that we did actually have a points system back in 2007 - see here

Re: The ISC wants you! (Again)
I literally screamed after seeing this thread
My Curriculum vitae (L)
About moi!
I'm Alex obviously, I was born in Monaco before moving Olde East Anglia in the United Kingdom, Me being Monegasque makes me supercool, as Monaco is famous for many things such as the F1, Monte-Carlo Rally, the World Music awards and much more sexy events, also Monegasques are really rare, so catch me while you can
I'm fluent in French, getting an A* in my GCSE's (General Certificate of Secondary Education) and I'm partically fluent in Italiano, this is good because not everybody in the Simcity community speaks english like members at Toutsimcity for example.
I'm incharge of the school's magazine, after founding it 3 year's ago, it has became a huge part of our school's culture.
I now study Media and Geography as an A-Level, at Sixth form, this mean's i'm fairly good at Photoshop and other software's needed for advertising, graphics ect, I also study Geography, which i LOVE it's why i joined the Simcity community, I love every culture, even though me and Mike do love our America vs Europe discussions with Peter
I'm really friendly, I have never been rude to anybody on the forum's, I don't believe in people bullying other people on the forums, I'f there is anything which i find generally rude, i comment about it, as people shouldnt be getting away with it.
I have been called very stylish which is always a good thing.
I have bidding for the dream games twice, both losing but i'm a very gracious as i believe that the ISC always makes the right decision.
I'f i was in the ISC, i would not be biast in selecting the host of the next games, i believe that the best bid should win.
Auvergne (My CJ/MD) came 3rd in the July Simlympics and 7th in the October Games, another key factor.
Myself I am a very active person, I do go to the Gym
and I hate fattie food's such as Mcdonalds.
Key Factors
That I'm Monegasque
Fluent in French & Italian
Responsible when it come's to dealling issues
Good at Media and Geography
Friendly
Not Bias
Hope this is the Information you need, References Available Upon Request
Oh and I ADORE THE ICKLE ISC LOGO THING UNDER THE USERNAME
Good luck everyonnee!

this is true, but for some reason the PAS was abolished by the time I got to the simlympics before the games in Penthsilli. It was after I suggested the PAS again that it was reinitiated. This is what I ment by that.

Alex: Haha @ scream, thanks for the application!
Just thought of something else which I should've probably mentioned at the start. Being an ISC member is pretty demanding (As I'm sure the current ISC members will tell you *cracks whip* ) and it really is quite a big commitment.
I don't mean to discourage any of you, just to ensure you fully understand the time commitment that would be expected of you if you're chosen to become an ISC member.

*Puts on a career counselor hat*
If you have skills in photoshop, advanced spreadsheets (e.g. Excel macros), BATing, and especially web-based forms, I think you'd be wise to mention that in your résumés.

Résumé
Created the now on-hold, Sim City Grand Prix Association
Have plans in place to create a tennis league once school finishes!
Bidded and participated in numerous Games, the first being August 2008
Pushed for the creation of the Oceania Region.
Hosted the Haarlemstraat Open
Hosted the warm-up athletics event to the Leah Games
Hosted a warm-up event for the previous Games also.
Skills
I first am skilled within the Sim City, being able to produce cities of varying design, layout, etc. from French, to Dutch and Australia.
I have significant skills in photoshop and other design aspects, having won the Campbell Prize for Visual Communication (for students wanting to study architecture) in 2008, and the Prize for Visual Communication and Design in 2009 at my school. I have been the top student for the past three years, and my speciality is in architecture but also logo design. Therefore, I would be able to assist in the production of logos, advertising materials etc.
I have successfully completed studying French for my final year of school and am about to commence learnign Spanish at university and therefore could participate in the greater reach of the ISC into many languages etc. I am also applying for a place at International House, a college at the University of Melbourne, where I will be studying the Bachelor of Environments, majoring in Architecture, and as such will/have a sound understanding of what it means to be a global community and how to best communicate with people in such as diverse environment, such as SimSports.
I have been a sub-editor of my school magazine for 3 years, and the editor of the House magazine, producing the first ever( showing that I have the drive to work hard and long hours to complete a task). I have been a House Prefect and have the ability therefore to give guidance and leadership but am willing to take responsibility for my actions and take orders easily.
Now that I am 3 weeks from the conclusion of my final exams, I will have a 3 month break before uni, and even then will have ample time to be an ISC member.
