Haarlemstraat 2010 - The Possibilities are Infinite Logo10

Presenting the initial version of the bid logo! Although not thoroughly complex, the logo aptly portrays the city. The block of colour obviously represent the 4 olympic colours and 1 shade, but also draw influence from Dutch artist Piet Mondrian, given that the city is Dutch themed it seemed only right to have a Dutch themed logo. But it further represents the canals and city blocks of Haarlemstraat.

Enjoy!

The King Leopold Canal will do used for the rowing and flat water events and will be extended if the city is chosen as host. This will be the first, or one of the first times that rowing has been held at the Simlympic Park. Rowing is the second national sport and as such the VSC wanted to have the venue in a prominent position.

The Simlympic Park. This is home to Victoria Stadium, the main venue of the Simlympics, the Haarlemstraat Swimming Arena and the Sosa Baseball Stadium. The Simlympic Park only includes these three stadia because this will encourage people to travel across the city and thus be able to see more of it. The Park has also been heavily vegetated as this was a former airport and the City Council wanted to increase the amount of green space in the city.
