Haarlemstraat 2010 - The Possibilities are Infinite
Presenting the initial version of the bid logo! Although not thoroughly complex, the logo aptly portrays the city. The block of colour obviously represent the 4 olympic colours and 1 shade, but also draw influence from Dutch artist Piet Mondrian, given that the city is Dutch themed it seemed only right to have a Dutch themed logo. But it further represents the canals and city blocks of Haarlemstraat.
Enjoy!
A partial region shot of Haarlemstraat, you can see the city in the corner. The rest of the delta of the Shroen River is a protected nature reserve. The sailing events will be held out in the bay that is in the bottom right corner
Above: King Leopold International Airport
Here you can see how close the Simlympic Park is to the CBD and is easily accessible by road, water, subway and monorail. You can also see the Haarlemstraat Tennis Center.
The King Leopold Canal will do used for the rowing and flat water events and will be extended if the city is chosen as host. This will be the first, or one of the first times that rowing has been held at the Simlympic Park. Rowing is the second national sport and as such the VSC wanted to have the venue in a prominent position.
The Media Center
The Simlympic Park. This is home to Victoria Stadium, the main venue of the Simlympics, the Haarlemstraat Swimming Arena and the Sosa Baseball Stadium. The Simlympic Park only includes these three stadia because this will encourage people to travel across the city and thus be able to see more of it. The Park has also been heavily vegetated as this was a former airport and the City Council wanted to increase the amount of green space in the city.
In the day
St Mary's Church
King Leopold Plaza. Here you can see the Oceania Regional Simlympic Headquarters and also the National Gallery.

Joe Lewis Arena, in one of the more rundown parts of town, this area is undergoing a major renovation, including extending the canal system as can be seen.
Howard Soccer Stadium and the Peschke Arena
The Museum of Modern Architecture.
Queen Beatrice Parade, this area will actually be the Athletes' Village. Housing the athletes in the heart of the city will give them a taste of the true flavour of the city.
Part of the CBD, you are able to see a few of the many hotels in Haarlemstraat. There are many others housed in the historic districts of the city. The Utlere Tower, the tallest in Haarlemstraat is the most visited tourist attraction in Haarlemstraat, offering superb views of the city and surrounding natural environment.
The Jeudy Center will play host to the fencing
This is the Wilson Hall Stadium, the former main stadium of the city, it will now play host to a number of qualifying rounds of various sports. The Gertshe Velodrome can also be seen.
Future home of the Haarlemstraat Outdoor Sports Centre, this will be home to the mountain biking, the water rapids course, equestrian and shooting. These sports are all however very small sports in the city and as such it is not feasible to build large venues if they won't be used again.
ABS and Gert Stadiums in Republicaa
J.O Baseball Stadium in Further Haarlemstraat
Transport map - note this is a stylised version. There are alot more subway lines but these are the ones which are most relevant to the Simlympics.
