New York City's Bid for the 2011 Winter Simlympics!

After days of planning the mayor of New York City has placed a bid for his city to host the 2011 Winter Simlympics! Meanwhile the Mayor of West NYC has decided to use an undeveloped piece of land for two Hotel Strips and two arenas, one for figure skating and short track speed skating and one for regular speed skating. Plus he is planning to convert the industrial area into the Athlete's Village. A new commuter rail line is being planned to run from NYC/Percy/Sonic/Fort Lansing International to the small mountain hamlet of Chrysler, which will be rebuilt into a tourist-friendly town.

Nice start in planning, youre getting there!

Based on what i'm seeing I hope not but I think that I read somewhere that there were no longer going to be a Winter version of the simlympics due to a lack of avalible venues for events. I'm only a competitor, I'd PM slacker but I thought that you should know. The pictures you've shown do look excelent however and I wish that this isn't true.

Is this a replica of the real New York City or your own city you are naming New York City?

left circle: Ski jumping, Biathlon, Cross Country

The Winter Simlympiad will progress in February 2011. The BATs needed were created for teh second winter simlympiad and will be released to the public in the near future.

In other news. As developers over Simpeg.com have recently learned new winter games pieces have been created for winter use. Including ski lifts, resorts, and other cool, cold, and snowy exibits for future Winter Simlympians world wide!

UPDATE!!!

A slow moving thunderstorm rolled through the area, producing major flash flooding. Many parts of the area have been damaged due to the low-lying area, even Chrysler has been hit with flash flooding due to it's location in a valley. We are cancelling the bid due to the flash flooding.
