Re: Mystic Falls 2010 - Simlympic Bid
Mystic Falls started out as a small, quiet community and was founded in 1658 near a majestic falls located northeast of the current city limits. The city has varying terrain with elevations ranging from 5 feet to over 2000 feet from sea level. It experienced rapid growth in the 1700 during the start of the industrial revolution. During the late 1900s, it became the center of the rapidly growing Greater Mystic Falls Metropolitan Area and is now the most populous city in the region. The city is home to more than 500,000 inhabitants and supports a total regional population of over 4 Million Sims.
CITY SEAL:
From being a simple town to a giant metropolis, the city had invested on new facilities and stadiums, better road networks, and new rapid transit system. The city spearheads the regions sports activities and recreations. The northern part of the city is a mountainous ares covered with snow for most of the year. The city hosted the regional winter games for 3 consecutives and is ready to host the 2011 winter simlympics. If given the opportunity to host next years games, the city promises to give a spectacular show.
TRANSPORTATION
The city is transportation friendly and is no nightmare for commuters and motorists. The Central Mystic Falls Highway dissects the city into two and connects mainland Mystic Falls to the island district of Pintas. The highway is also connected to the newly constructed Montaniosa Highway that passes through Mount York's Pass where it forms a junction going to the simlympic village and to Mount Xanor, the skiing venue for the games.
The city also has a very orderly subway system. It consists of four major lines.
The Green Line is the longest in the system and connects the Mystic City to Valencia City (a suburb.)
The Red Line transverses the central business district of Albertville, the city's largest commercial district, and offers access to the RQB International Airport.
The Blue Line is has least number of stations and gives a fast access to the simlympic venues especially for cities and suburbs from the south.
The Yellow line is the newly constructed Simlympic Line and connects the northern district of West Modernsite to the mountainous district of Mount Xanor where most of the skiing events are scheduled. The yellow line also passes through the simlypic village and the simlympic stadiums that will be used during the opening and closing ceremonies.
The city invested on a separated airport (as seen on the Blue Line) specifically catering to the needs of participants and visitors of the games. A seaport was also opened along Simlympic Avenue (also seen on the Blue Line) that would aid passengers going to the games utilizing water travel.
