Okashi, Okaiken | XVIII Simlympiad - Comments

President Douglas, ladies and gentlemen, Mesdames et Messieurs of the ISC. Arigato Gozaimas, I am honored to be here.

When I was selected to construct the Teijin Simlympic Park in Okashi, I found out that the majority of the workers at the park have been involved in community sports in the past.

Sports were what brought the community together. They strengthen our ties to one another. Growing up, when I trained in martial arts, we picked sides based not on who you were, but what you could bring to the game. Sports taught me self-confidence, teamwork, and how to compete as an equal. This is our dream.

But today, I can dream, and I am dreaming of a Simlympic and Parasimlympic Games in Okashi that will light up lives in Okaiken and all across the SimCity community; that will expose all of us to new sports and new role models; that will show every person that regardless of wealth, or gender, or culture, or physical ability, there is a sport and a place for them, too.

Okashi's vision for the Simlympic and Parasimlympic movement is about so more than what we can offer the Games -- it's about what the Games can offer all of us. It's about inspiring this generation, and building a lasting legacy for the next.
