On behalf of the Windsor Park Simlympics Committee, the city of Windsor Park is proud to present the 2007 Winter Simlympics Bid for Windsor Park.

Our fair metropolis, diverse in both culture, race, and religion, boasts approximately 644,102 residents in the city proper, and many more in the outlying areas near the city.

In preparation of the upcoming bid, and to better prepare the city for the next century, a 1-cent sales tax intended for entertainment and infrastructure hs been implemented. This tax already has helped to build a new arena, renovate and retrofit all area stadiums, and even help to contruct new subterranean rail lines to most locations for the bid.

Windsor Park is home to many great tourism and sporting areas, stout in history both triumphant and tragic. We hope to share this with all visitors during their stay here.

Along the majestic Bandworth River, the Boardwalk, dedicated in 1807, is a truely beautiful site. Measuring nearly 7 miles in length, this scenic destination is perfect for jogging in the morning, picnics with the family for lunch, picture opportunities in the evening, or even a late night stroll in the dark.

Originally intended as a low income housing sector when it was constructed, this area is now known as a shopping mecca by all. Home to many high dollar shops, such as Apple, Gucci, and Rolex to name a few, its evolved from an abandoned housing development to the most iconic areas of our city. However, the area still houses many people, and heralds itself with having on of the largest gay populations in the city.

This has lead to a true sense of pride among the businesses themselves, and the area now hosts many top name electronics and clothing stores, 5 star resturants, and some of the most exciting night clubs around.

For those of the religous view, Windsor Abby is the grand choice for those looking for prayer. Built in 1821, this massive Gothic cathedral is home not only to those of the Christian belief, but many other religions. Mandated as a step towards religous acceptance by the City Council in 1999, the church now allows all religions to use its space.

Green seekers can rejoice in the fresh and and plentiful renewable energies used in the Riverside Industrial District. Home to the Riverside Industrial Museum, this area, once known by many as an ecological nightmare, is now known as one of the cleanest industrial points in the nation.

As many people know, most cities just aren't complete with a clock tower in its possesion. Windsor Park is one of them.

Built in 1885 by textile tycoon Byron Ruewill, the Ruewill Bridge Toweris a shining example of the grace, beauty, and history enstowed in the city.

Easily the best hotel in the entire city, the Four Seasons is a experiene to behold. French themed, this hotel opened its doors in 1907. Featuring deluxe accomdations, five star dining, and a world class spa, this hotel as opened its doors and has offered free lodging to athletes participating in the Winter Simlympics.

Recently completed this year, Interlink Stadium, built by the telecomm giant of the same name, features the best in technology and spectator comfort. Not only is this an amazing convention center, home to great concerts every weekend, this $320 million arena is also great for such sports as basketball, handball, fencing, and hockey.

Heralded as the largest body of water in the city, Moonlight Lakeis a truely beautiful site. This area is not only a wildlife reserve, but also an iconic part of the city itself, brining in an estimated 1 million tourists each year.

This area is perfectly suited for outdoor water sports of all kinds, such as canoeing, rowing, sailing, triathalon, and even mountain biking in its ense forests beyond shore.

Located just south of the Interlink Stadium, the Windsor Grand Hotel is the largest hotel in the city. Featuring a large sporting events center able to seat 10,000, this site is not only ather place for visitors during the Simlympics to visit, but also for events such as boxing, weightlifting, wrestlin and judo.

Originaly intended for demolishing after the Interlink Arena's completion, this stadium has benefitted the most from the 1-cent sales tax. Completely renovated, its perfect for lacrosse and easily converted to be used as a velodrome.

Tennis fans rejoice. Built in 1979, this ode to modern design is home to thePlaza Point Raquetball Club. Featuring a world-class tennis/raquetball stadium, this arena is perfct for tennis durin the competition.

Nothing says America like eating a hot dog, sipping a cold drink, and sitting down to watch its favorite past time baseball. Built in 1992, North Towne Field is a rgreat addiion to the city and a perfct venue for the baseball during the Simlympics.

The name says it all. Known as the best greens by city officals, professional golfers, and CEOs alike, is large country club course is the est place for the golfing portion of the Winter Simlypics.

If there's one thing every citizen of Winsor Park loves, its swimming. So, when the city proposed this masive aquatics center in 1951, it won in the polls with a 99% part of the vote.

This sprawling complex, an ode to all things aquatic, is perfect for diving, swimming, synchronized swimming, and water polo.

Located just acros the street from the aquatic center of the same name, is Signal Park Stadium. Built in '95, this massive glass and steel structure is perfcty suited for athletics, football, soccer, and rugby.

Due to its massive size, and outdoor feel, ts also where the opening and medal awarding ceremonies will take place.

However, there has to also be a plac for all competitors to warmup before competeing. Windsor University has graciously donated use of its Track and Field department for anyone who wishes to use it. It features an on site gym, weight training room, and even an onsite clinic.

However, none of this bid could be possil if there isn't any form of trasporation.

For those either fearful of flying, or unable do so, Windsor Park Union Station is the ideal choice for those coming in by train. With its grand architecture and lower number of passengers, its a pleasant expericence for anyone who uses it. Also lpanned for the winter season all area high schools have been invited to have their vocal music classes sing various holiday songs in its halls.

For thoselooking for a faster and more economical way of travel, Samuel Washinton Memorial is a great choice.

Locate just 20 mins from downtown, this masive international class airport is a great choice for those flying in from various nations, and services all major airlines, and even some lesser known ones.
