[Journalist]: Just a few hours before the Summit begins in Ylmeria, thousands of protesters are marching down Victory avenue towards the venue which will host the Summit (Eastside Palace). They are asking why the rest of the COFR did nothing when the military came to power, seven Gameyears ago. "What Communication? What Trust? And above all, what FREEDOM? We have none of these! And what did the COFR do? Nothing!" says a young adult. Will the government respond with violense? One thing is for certain - we are up for one hell of a summit!

Here is an update on the Uprising:

The protests started out peacefully, however the government ordered that Riot Police take any measures they can to prevent the protestors from reaching Eastside Palace, where the COFR Summit was held. Only five out of thirty-six delegations managed to reach Eastside Palace and the negotiations started as scheduled.

However protests turned violent over night, where certain buildings have been set aflame and protests still continue to rage in downtown Ylmeria as well as other major Shalman cities.











The Prime Minister stated that all necessary actions would be taken to prevent further demonstrations from taking place, even if that means the army taking action.

Riot Update:
2 days ago:
Today a demonstration at the Rainbow District of Ylmeria turned violent, and two buildings were set on fire and completely distroyed, right by the Hotel Rainbow.



Later on a demonstration at the Hypertrophy district of Ylmeria also turned violent and the protesters set fire to two kiosks outside the Institute of Hypertrophy Studies, which was also set aflame and is still burning.



The Prime Minister refused to declare a State of Emergency and made it clear that the government would use the military if the situation worsens.

So far there have been 4,502 arrests, 14,893 injuries and 23 deaths according to non-Shalman sources. The Government rejects the later two.

The Prime Minister also condemned the rioting which occured in other nations of the Confederacy of Free Regions to support the Shalman Free Government which supports the rioting and the fall of the Junta. The Shalman Free Government is based in the Hiigaran Confederacy.

Yesterday:

Yesterday evening more demonstrations were held which were eventually halted by tanks of the Imperial Ground Forces. Several protesters set fire to buildings and kiosks. The Riot Police was forced to use teargas.



Workers Unions announced a General Strike, and the workers at Emperor Aldior International Spaceport of Ylmeria set fire to one of the terminals and two of Imperial Spaceline's brand new spaceliners.



The number of arrests has reached 56,023 with 3,488 injured and 78 dead. The Government has not confirmed any of those sources.

As of today nothing will be working in the Empire, whether public sector or private sector, and even students have stated that there would be demonstrations untill the government steps down. A big demonstration is scheduled for tomorrow in Ylmeria's Imperial College in the outskirts of the Capital of the Empire.

18 days into the uprising, and once again the students at the Imperial College and across the country have refused to resume their classes until the Military Government resigns. The total amount of people protesting in the Empire is estimated at about 50 million.



The Government ordered that the military take immediate action so that the crisis be ended and the Empire return to normal. Twenty tanks of the Imperial Ground Forces were sent to bring the uprising to a violent halt.



At 13:12 pm (Andromedan Standard Time) the tanks started firing at the students and the buildings of the College as ordered by the Minister of Millitary Affairs and the Prime Minister.

A total of 39 students were killed and another were 2946 injured.



The total losses the Junta has cost the Empire are: 540,234 arrests, 24,387 injured and 329 killed.



A few minutes ago the Prime Minister announced in a press conference that his Government resigns from the post of Governing Party and the Empire's leadership is handed to the Free Shalman Government, which is on its way from the Hiigaran Confederacy.

Crowds of people have gone out to celebrate and at the same time commemorate the lives lost in this struggle for freedom.

The Crown Prince, who visited the Empire for the first time in 7 years, since his exile to the Kingdom of Hypertrophy, state:

"This is a turning point in history; the people of the Shalman Empire have shown the world that people should not be afraid of their governments. We have shown the world that the government should be afraid of its people. This struggle for Freedom in our homeland has cost ust many lives and many injured. I assure you, though, that there are great changes to come; a complete reorganization of the Empire to modernize it further.

With the help of the Shalman Free Government I will reconstruct a better, stronger and above all FREEer Shalman Empire; one that shall be praised for its excellence in human rights implementations and economic and diplomatic might."

The Shalman Empire is hereby resolved and will be re-organized into the Commonwealth of Former Shalman Imperial States, or Shalman Commonwealth for short.

Wow security must be bad there if they can set fire to a super massive ship which is designed to resist the heat while returning from orbit to land.

Hope the riot gets quelched by the police soon or your whole country will go aflame!
