Day 12
After many days of construction, Olympic Stadium is now complete. The last phase of the construction, installing the seats, was finished today.
The new Alberton Velodrome, was completed also.
Plans for new voleyball courts on the waterfront were canceled due to no suitable venues, but, due to a declining workforce, increased commercial demand, and an increasing population throught the city of Dunstonville, buisinesses have flocked to areas near Olympic Park, areas where residential unemployment is increasing.
The Riverland West area, just north of Olympic Park, is booming with commerce and construction, feeding a smarter, growing population.
Another revitalization project was started today in what was supposed to be the Olympic Park. Uptown Dunstonville, an area that hasn't seen the growth expected, even after the addition of the new Davis Arena, which will host Basketball during the games, has had a big push to urbanization after the construction of the new Hyatt Grandview, just off I-55 near Davis Arena. Much bigger projects are planned for this area also.
This Phase-oriented project, has no real completion date, but, the first major project is planned after the games.
In other news, the olympic flame is now on the drawing board. Renowned BATer, yoder7652, who is now a Dunstonville 2006 honorary volunteer, has agreed to do the project. Mayor Dunston revealed three of the likely plans for the flame.
The design that is chosed by yoder is not garunteed to be anything like it. It was stressed that he be creative with the project.
Also, the city of Dunstonville plans to create a new newspaper in 2007.

The participants in the games were announced today. 11 cities are participating. They were placed in 4 divisions: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the SCJU. They were placed in their divisions based on author location or cj location / theme. All cities are competing, but, this is just a way of having a realistic medal count.
