Corisica Bids to host the 12th ISC session.

What is Corisica?
Corisica is a small Portuguese village in the Province of Porto Del Gada in the country of Arranossa. This region is the only region in the entire country of Arranossa that speaks Portuguese, even though the rest of the country speaks either English. The village was established in 1678 when Portuguese settlers built on the land and started to farm in the region. The town got left behind in the 20th century and is still about 20 years behind technology wise, but that is where corisica's charm lies in it's old worldliness.

How To get here:
Just A hop Skip and a Jump Away from the country's capital of Arranossa. Is the western province of Porto Del Gada and it's capital of Santiago. The city of Santiago has a population of close to 400,000 and is the main gateway into the region. via Aeroporto internacional de Santiago Which serves the following airlines:

Arranonian Airways, Air Marceau, Metro Jet, Go Jet ,TAP Portugal,Pan AAN ,Iberian Airways, TWWA Airlines, Porto Air, Portugalia Air, SATA International, AirTransat, Delta Petrova, Petrovair, RIA,

If your airline does not fly direct connect flights into Aeroporto internacional de Santiago then you may have to transfer via Arranossa Agualia International in the main capital of Arranossa which is 130 miles to the south east.

From there hope onto a jet to Lucia just a few miles to the North via Island Air or by Chaves Airways. it's an estimated 40 minute flight to Lucia via Santiago and a 2 and a half hour fly if you prefer to fly out of Arranossa Agualia International.

From there take the Underground, airport Bus taxis or Limousines that are conveniently at your service at Aeroporto do viajante de bilhete mensal de Lucia. Take them North to the small suburb of Corisica, about a 15 minute drive away on the I-87 highway.

The Town Itself:
This is where the ISC committee will come and meet for the session. It is the Town hall and was built in 1765 and has extreme historical significance to the people of this town.


Behind and all around the town hall is the Jardins Bonitos which was the towns gardens and garden plots that were used to feed the people of the town for years, Now they are beautiful gardens that house an Amphitheater that will host Music during the 2 Day Meeting of the ISC in Corisica.


Further to the North of the hall is the actual town and homes itself. these homes have been in the families hands since the early 1600's and most have been restored or modernized.


The ISC Members are free to stay with any locals such as Hilda Goncalves, the oldest woman in Town at 92. Or Fransisco Sores the Gold Medal Winning Swimmer at the V games at Payens.

ISC members may also stay at the Plaza do norte da troca which is at the border of Lucia and Corisica and houses the Raddison at Lucia and the Hilton at Lucia. The ISC may choose to stay wherever it finds sufficient.


The Town of Corisica will show the world that all you need is old world charm and a smile to host a great ISC session. If Corisica is chosen it will be the first ever ISC session held in a town with a pop of less than 700! The Town of Corisica, the Region of Porto Del Gada and the Nation of Arranossa are opening the door to the world and is ready to show the ISC that even the little guy can put on a great show!

Recently ARR News did a story on the resident's of Porto Del Gada and there opinion on the possibility of Corisica hosting the ISC sessions with mixed views both positive and negative. Here are some of the views from some resident's (There story's have been translated from Portuguese to English)

Hilda Gonsalves, 92, Corisica
Is the Oldest Resident in Corisica and the 4th oldest in the region. Has been a resident of Corisica all her life.

Q:What do you think of the Corisica ISC Bid?

A:Pessoalmente eu acho que é um gesto simpático. Finalmente, esse pequeno pedaço do céu no Porto Del gada região está começando é a hora de brilhar, eu tenho vivido aqui toda a minha vida e nunca vi nada tão grande desde o PM Jonathan Guadilupe veio e visitou a cidade de volta em 1954. Eu sou provavelmente o mais extático de todos os residentes da aqui (risos) e tenho 92! (ainda mais risos)
A: I Personally Think It's A nice gesture. Finally this little slice of heaven in the Porto Del Gada region is getting it's time to shine, I have lived here all my life and haven't seen anything this big since the PM Jonathan Guadilupe came and visited the town back in 1954. I am probably the most ecstatic of all of the resident's here (Laughs) and I'm 92! (laughs even more)

A:Acho que é um tipo de insulto para nós, em Santiago. Corisica tem menos de 1.000 pessoas e que vai ser escolhido para sediar um evento classe mundial como o que? Não me interpretem mal Eu adoro a cidade e é uma visão para ver, ele só se sente como Santiago tem snubbed pela ASC desta vez.
A:I find it kind of an Insult to us in Santiago. Corisica has less than 1,000 people and it's going to be picked to host a world class event such as that?! don't get me wrong i love the town and it's a sight to see, It just feels like Santiago got snubbed by the ASC this time around.

A:Sim e Não, só porque eu acho que poderia ter hospedado Santiago e o mesmo resultado teria sido alcançado. Portanto, em geral, sim eu tenho.

A:É emocionante. Esta região tem nunca sediou um grande evento, como uma conferência ou mesmo uma ISC simlympic jogos! Só agora estamos realmente começando em todo o mundo! Acho que as pessoas da geração mais velha são apenas preocupado depois, o mundo estava chocado com o que aconteceu em Windsor Park, em 2007, eles são apenas nervoso, mas eles estão sempre preocupados com essas coisas.
A:It's Exciting. This region has never really hosted a very large event such as a ISC conference or even a simlympic games! Just now we are really getting onto the world stage! I think the people in the older generation are just worried after the world was shocked at what happened at Windsor Park in 2007, they are just nervous but they are always worried about such things.

Q:Does it worry you at all?

A:(risos) Nem mesmo a menos, estou mais animado para ver se estamos realmente ganna acolhimento, uma infecção é a última coisa na minha mente. Estou realmente esperando que abre a porta a outros eventos que poderiam acolher!
A:(laughs) Not even in the least, I'm more excited to see if we are really ganna host, An infection is the last thing on my mind. I'm actually hoping this opens the door to other events that we could host!

The Corisica ISC Bid committee Is releasing new information to the ISC and the media. It's The plans to make the conference into a 2 day spectral of Culture, Bidding, And Friendship.

Here Is the plan for day one.


The Theme of this years ISC session will be the treasures of the Portuguese world and the Cultural impact the Simlympics has on the world.

Day 1:
The First day will consist of Bidding discussion among the members and what they would like to accomplish within the next Simlympics and what there plans for the future of the Simlympic community will be. also they will discuss updates to the Games and what mistakes were made at the Hinawa games and what was accomplished there and what made them amazing games and what they would love to see in the next games. Later that night they will join the towns people in the rear of the town hall and join in a traditional Portuguese feast. this will give the committee a chance to experience the culture of the people in the Porto Del Gada region.

Day 2:
Day two will start off with the committee bidding on the host of the XI games of the Simlympic games in the modern Simlympic Era. They will also bid on any other Simlympic committee business that must be conducted at this ISC session. On the Final night the ISC will Get to experience traditional Portuguese dancing and the rich artwork and music of portugal at the Corisica Town hall stage. The will also be the time when Corisica says good bye to the world as the 12th ISC host and wishes luck to the Host of the XI Simlympic Games.

This Will be one of the most memorable ISC sessions to date and the benchmark for all subsequent ISC Sessions.

So I know this is ganna be asked...
"how do you plan on holding an event like this in a town hall?!"

Well you haven't seen the Town hall yet and the Bidding Hall.

The town hall will be able to hold up to 4,000 people. (Or 3,500 ISC member seats as 500 have been reserved for the towns people) this will allow the main members of the ISC to come and the Main people who are in the bidding committee for each city will each have their own section.

All other people or spectators will be limited to reduce the influx of visitors into Corisica for the weekend that the town is hosting. They will be asked to stay at Plaza do norte da troca and view the event via closed circuit television in the hotels conference room.

Also, TAP Portugal has taken the honor of Being the official Airline of the 12th ISC Bidding host Corisica.

Transportation is a major concern for people in the Porto Del Gada Region. Many have Converted to Electric cars or have ridden bikes to work instead of driving, or have taken public transportation instead of . many are also hoping that transportation to and from the ISC session will be clean and healthy for the enviorment.

The GM Corporation has allowed the use of 30 of there new Chevrolet Volts to provide security and to transport delegates to and from the airport in Lucia to Corisica.


Also, TAP Portugal the official Airline of the Corisica ISC Sessions 2009 will be flying to all the bid nations Airports and will fly them free of charge to the Event. They will also be flying on clean Bio Diesel Aircraft fuel. This will offset the carbon emissions seen by most ISC and Simlymoic events.

Corisica 2009 supporters crowded A Praça dos anjos in the capital of Santiago as they wait in anticipation for the ISC's announcement of the ISC session 2009 host.



Some of the fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement from the ISC president slacker on the conference.

The Corisica ISC bidding comittee is putting its money on the idea that a weekend of culture and global understanding will convince the ISC to Host the sessions in Corisica and give them the world stage for the first time in history.

And as night falls on the city of Corisica and with the announcement of a winner less than 24 hours away... the region is on it's toes with anticipation!
