After talking with max I decided to let you all in on the History of the RVPHL(Rorysville's Domestic Hockey League)

1917-1919-The Early Years
The RVHA and AHA Both Floudering for cash decided to merge and form the RVPHA. The RVPHA became more than what was ever expected of it at the time. Out of the initial teams to join the League only 2 Survive to this day.What was started built a tradition that lasts to this day with the Byron Cup being awarded.After the first 3 years the Board of Govenors Decided it was time to changethe league to a professional League.

RV Silversticks-1917-1935-The team Ceased operations during the 5 years of no league play due to the conflict in the Coastal Islands
RV Athletic Club(Rv Celtics 1920-1959)-1917-1959-Folding in 1959 as the Owner Died and his Wife had no intrest in continuing the Team it was folded rather than sold.
Polaris Athletic Alliance(Polaris Leafs 1941-1978)-1917-1978-Ceased Operations in 1978 as the Economy in Polaris took a downturn.
York Tomcats(York Warriors 1941-Current)-1917-Current-One of teh Charter Clubs in the RVPHL still in the League
St.Andrew's Armada-1917-1926-Moved to Kingston in 1926
Laval Coastal-1917-1920-Folded due to an Arena Fire
Dorval Mountainmen-1917-1920-Folded due to Dorval's growing unemployment rate
Kingston Lookouts-1917-Folded after one season due to a lack of funds by the ownership group
Marceau Amature Athletic Association(Marceau Aloetts 1920-Current)-1917-Current-One of the Founding Clubs the AAA's have also been one of the most storied franchises.

As the League Started to change into a Professional League the Atheltic Clubs and Amature Associations either folded or Became Professional Hockey Clubs.3 Current Clubs started operations in this 14 year timeframe. The only thing that would stop this leagues growth was a War.

1941-1959 The Re-Birth of the League
As the war ended teh League came back with a slew of new teams joining in the 40's 4 teams that joined in the 40's are still in operation. With the War on overseas many feared the RVPHL wuld cease again,this time the Government stepped in and decided that all sports leagues continue to keep morale up at home. However a War with Marceau would see teams relocate from Marceau for the initial part of the War and a new competitor would start the MRPHL was founded by the seperating Marceau.

The Roster is noticeably Missing Marceau and Lacroix Born Players as the RFA,FAM, and IFA all expressed concerns in a unified squad competeing therefore the RFA was granted the Roster the MFA and IFA had no objections and look forward to the hopes that they will be able to compete as well one day.

I had planned some St.Gaz Day celebrations but ran into Computer issues so alas none yet maybe this weekend

St.Gaz Day is July 7th and in Rorysville it marks the Start of their Independance from Rule of a foreign power. while the Nation was not formerlty free on July 7th the Fight for freedom is reconized on the 7th day of July every year. in RV City the Week around St.Gaz Day is filled with Fireworks,Airshows,Boat Races,and the Laergest Concert Festival in the Nation and one of the Largest in the World "Summerslam" Summerslam brings 6 Days of Music to RVC with Concerts at the NCG(National Concert Grounds), and Celtic Field as well as Shows at smaller venues throughout the City With music Daily from 11am-11pm at the NCG and Celtic Field and from 11am-4am at some venues. the 2010 Edition witnessed some 250 Bands performing over the 6 days with an estimated 2million in attendance for the shows.
