Why not? It wouldn't be the first time that two consecutive Games (or more) are celebrated on the same continent.

That's just been the trend of the IOC and FIFA... they want to spread the wealth... truthfully it's been the whole socialist progressive movement of late... but that's for a different topic a different argument and a different day.

The Games will go to Rio they are the only major favorite left and I watched Madrid's bid, I wasn't awake for the others... I wasn't impressed in the slightest. From what I've heard watching sports center Rio's bid was over the top and there for they will take the games.

Lol, you can't say its socialist wanting each continent to host an Olympics.
London will be the 30th games. 30 games and they've never been in South America. Hardly fair, is it? Razz

I want it to be Madrid, but I think it'll be Rio. Hopefully I'm wrong.

So... i was at lunch today at school and got a txt telling me Chicago and Tokyo being eliminated in the first 2 rounds... i was dumb founded and couldn't believe it... i knew from that point that Rio had it in the bag for sure... sure enough Rio 2016!

The IOC Rio supporters just got afraid of Chicago and voted for Toyko so Chicago could just be out of the race and not contend against Rio since Toyko and Madrid IOC members would've voted for Chicago if Toyko or Madrid got the boot. Its all IOC politics in there. I'm just flabbergassed that Madrid was one of the finalist since every anaysis had stated their bid wasn't as strong. The final vote supports the theory as well since Rio won with 3/4 more vote than Madrid.

I was shocked. I watched the live bid presentation yesterday, and I was very disappointed with Chicago's presentation. When I watched Rio, I knew they were going to win, but with Rio, I'm very happy. First time a south american country hosts!!!

But what got me shocked even more was Chicago was the first one out! I was like ummm Madrid should be the first one out. Then Tokyo, then Chicago then Rio. Sad

I gasped and nearly fell out of my chair when it was announced Chicago was eliminated, No surprise Rio won really.
