I need help with the whole simlympics concept.

The Simlympics are a Sim City Based version of the Olympics were Nations(CJ's/MD's) get the rights to bid on Hosting the Simlympics as well as Competing in the Simlympics the events are simulated and results are posted it's purly for the love of Sport and Sim City.

Its pretty simple really, you can describe the entire thing in 3 words. Play, Bid and Compete.

Play - Play Sim City 4!
Bid - Bid to host the Simlympics, for instance Beijing is hosting the 2008 Olympics.
Compete - Compete during the Simlympics. Your city/nation will take part in all the different athletic events like 100m or swimming.

If you need any extra help just ask though.

how do we compete? I always wondered, even how is the STHL games decided

Ok in the simlymics case it's a random number generator(I think thats what slacker called it)

and in the STHL's case teh games are simulated using NHL08(I was using 06 for last season and 07 for D2) with using NHL08 I am able to customize(not very easily I might add) the uniforms/Logos Arenas,etc... so that you can actually watch the games and it looks like the actuall teams.The rosters are NHL players but I did a fantasy draft meaning all the players got split up everywhere

No, it's the whole region.

Individual cities bid to host the Simlympics.
Countries (Regions in SC4) compete in the Simlympics.

So like in the Olympics, Beijing is hosting the 2008 Olympics but China, Australia and France are competing to win medals. It's the same with the Simlympics .

You have to go to the official SC4 website and download the SC update and then download the night effects patch which is also somewhere in the website. That worked for me. Hope I can help.

So I'm still confused about this whole simlympics thing. So after bidding for the olympics, who chooses the host, or is it randomly selected? And I still don't get how you can host the olympics and how countries win competitions. Is there like some kind of place where everyone meets and competes during the olympics? And when is the next two Simlympics? I'm kinda new to this, but I love the whole Simlympics idea. Thanks.

Slacker (the creator of the Simlympics) chooses the host city (I think on his own, not sure). I think there's some sort of random way of picking who wins at each event. As part of the role playing, people for your country go to the Simlympics host city to compete. The next two Simlympics will PROBABLY be in October and November. Hope that clears things up a bit for you

actually slacker doesn't choose the host the ISC (International Simlympic Comitee) chooses the host we vote on the bids for those specific games and the winning bid is the host the whole thing is then simulated through a random number generator by slacker and the host posts pictures for teh games and from that the games take place.

the current games are End of August
next games are October then comes our first Winter Simlympiad in December(ooopps did I say Winter?) hope that answers the questions

Sorry, one more question. So how exactly does a host city host the simlympics? Like how is the opening ceremony done? So do we pretend that the competing countries go to the host city in compete? I watched the STHL on youtube. Is that what happens in the simlympics? Someone plays NHL and then posts it on youtube?

NOt exactly, the opening ceremony is ussually just taken care of by the host country's creator.

For the games from what I have gathered is just a random number generator, not anyone playing the games, I have Athens 04 and for ha ha's I tried playing just track and feild with that game on my PS2........ with the full list of competing countries from all the simcity sites..... omg I was there forever just doing the 100m dash
