Re: Dmscopio's Simlympic BATS
That version of the London Olympic Aquatics Centre is obsolete now as I understand it. The new design is:
and in legacy, after the games:
The new design is cheaper (of course) and much uglier
I've been trying to model it myself, but I haven't got very far yet. It's quite a complex shape! I'd prefer the version you posted, but alas, construction's already well under way on the version above. The planned velodrome for London is far easier to make. I plan to do that soon if nobody beats me to it ... and the main stadium
David, the stadium looks superb! I like the cauldron. It suits the building very nicely. I can't wait until it's finished and in my hands!

Psander5: Oh yeah, you're right. It doesn't look so bad after the games. The weird stands during the games are really ugly though.
Really looking forward to seeing your work though .

Re: Dmscopio's Simlympic BATS
i dont really get the "London 2012 Indoor Arenas"...it looks ok, but comparing to other arena it just too ordinary...maybe it is more high tech and environmental friendly? any idea what the outer material is? glass or ETFE skin(just like Allianz and Water Cube)...
BTW, i agreed with the new stand of that swimming center really killed the whole thing.

It looks like ETFE skin.
Ooh, just found this (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=782790) loads of information and pictures on that venue .
So basically we're going to have a venue covered in weed XD.

The concept designs show a fabric-clad frame, featuring strong geometric designs, graphics or art created by a yet-to-be-appointed cladding subcontractor, and architectural lighting, said the ODA. Cladding will be single-skin, and could be made of recyclable PVC, or even hemp.

I agree instead of focusing on more indoor arenas perhaps your next should be to help out the need for outdoor winter venues so we can start placing those for our winter bids.

Hii David! I saw some progress on your website Looking VERY hot :p
Now, I actually remembered a really nice venue located in Luxembourg... It's a big indoor arena for water sports, athletics and concerts called D'Coque. Maybe it's something that can give you inspiration?

Re: Dmscopio's Simlympic BATS
Sorry for making you all waiting. Just exported some models in game last night, and here is some screenshots:
I will relot them tonight. So far what I got are four major stadiums:a main stadium, an indoor arena, an aquatic center, and a tennis center. I am also making a package of stadium stands that you can plop them freely to create customized stadium. I am also planning a baseball field and indoor shooting arena.
I may release what I mentioned above as the volumn 1 of the Simlympic pack soon, just to test the reaction from the players.
Any comments so far? I will try to upload more picture later.
