Rafforsia August 2009 General Election

The August 2009 Rafforsia General Election is the first election in the Republic under the new official name of the New Republic of the United Rafforsia. This election is to determine the new Government that will run the Republic as the previous Government (run by Raffore United Party) has been banned and dissolved due to extreme corrupt practices and war crimes practices.

Here are the list of political parties taking part in the General Election:



Freedom & Equality Party (FEP) is formed in 2009. The color code is Brown. FEP believes in freedom and equality for the people. It is also a strong supporter of Human Rights and it is against Capital Punishment, in which Capital Punishment has a strong support in Rafforsia.

People's United Party (PUP) is formed in 2009. The color code is White. PUP believes in unity for the people. PUP also follows the policy of the dissolved Raffore United Party (RUP), and it is heavily critized for being a strong supporter of RUP. Most of the members of PUP are former members of RUP, resulting in the majority of the population disliking PUP.

Republic Party (RP) is formed in 2009. The color code is Green. RP believes in a harmonious racial and religious population will leads to the success of Rafforsia. It is the one of the two Parties that believes in forging a strong relationship with Singapore, which is why it has gained the support of the majority of the people of Rafforsia. RP also believes in establishing a strong relationship between Rafforsia and the three Fornaxian Nations in Space: Miegan Republic, Fornax Republic and Unggoy Federation.

Raffore Democratic Alliance (RDA) is formed in 2009. The color code is blue. RDA believes in having a democratic population in a free country. It is one of the two Parties that believes in forging a strong relationship with Singapore, which is why it has gained the support of the majority of the people of Rafforsia. In addition, RDA believes that a merger between Rafforsia and Singapore will help both nations develop faster, due to the fact that Rafforsia and Singapore earn most of their GDP through cargo trading.

Although Republic Party won the election, it could not run the country yet as it has won less than 70% of the Seats in the Parliament. Eventually, Republic Party formed an alliance with Freedom & Equality Party and Raffore Democratic Alliance, given Republic Party a total of 76 Seats in the Parliament. Thus, Republic Party will be the new Government that will be running Rafforsia.

General Elections in Rafforsia are held once in every five years. Therefore, the next General Election will be held in 2014.
