Dizflip - I guess you just have to attribute North America's success to the random number system.
There are 63 countries competing and 150 medals. This means that on average, each country should receive 2.38 medals. North America should get 42.8 medals as a group, but have 28 after Day 6. I would say that statistically, the SimCity Journal Union is underperforming for its size and the IPON is doing a bit better. I do think it's amazing that the top 6 countries on the medal table are all from North America. But that's the beauty of random selection - you get some funny (odd) results.

Well, Day 7 has made a big difference in the medal tables. It's really cool to see the hometown team at that top (and it's not even a North American entry)!
