Torch Relay - Day 9 - Arcacia

It was early morning when the plane carrying the Simlympic Flame touched down at Redding Airport. It stayed in a special room in the terminal reserved for special guests until the relay got underway at 9am local time.

The relay course took in every district capital.

First stop was Redding City were the first of 6 cauldrons was lit at 10am.

On to Yorke where two cauldrons were lit. The first in Olympic Park at midday.

The second cauldron in Yorke was in Garden Square at 1pm.

The Flame then made its way to Lytehope where it was taken by ferry to the Northern Islands capital, Brooklyn and the cauldron lit at 2:30pm.

Then, back again and into Broadalbin where the 5th cauldron was lit at 4:00pm.

The final leg took the Flame to the national capital, Providence, where the final cauldron was lit in Capitol Square at 5:30pm.

Capitol Square became the focus and the party continued well into the evening. As the sun set, Paramore took the stage for a mini-concert, among other acts including local talent, comedians and performances by local indigenous acts.

At 10pm, the sky was lit up by a huge fireworks display as the cauldron was extinguished and the Flame was secreted away in the Senate building from where it will soon make it's way to Providence Airport and a flight to Aleksania.
