Torch Relay - Day 11 - Arcacia
Day 11 - Arcacia
It was mid-morning when the plane carrying the Simlympic Flame touched down in Providence. Passengers waiting for their flights cheered the flame as it was carried through the terminal on its way through the streets of Providence to the first mini-cauldron in the newly completed Providence Olympic Park.
There were a few hundred people at the Plaza in Olympic Park to watch the first mini-cauldron lit.
It was then on through Broadalbin to the city that bid against Sarnia for the rights to host these games. Thousands were in Yorke to welcome the flame to their city and see the second mini-cauldron lit.
Runners then carried the flame to Redding City where a thousand people had assembled in the city centre to see the final mini-cauldron lit.
The celebration lasted into the night as those who had been in Providence and Yorke made their way to Redding City for the finale. A concert and fireworks capped off Arcacia's leg of the torch relay.
It was then taken by tram to Redding Airport where a specially chartered Arcacian Airlines plane was waiting. Amongst cheers from passengers at adjacent gates, the flame boarded the plane and departed Arcacia, bound for East Rockcoast.
