CANCELLED: Galanos - 16th ISC Session - 2011
Well, New Chandler isn't going to be competing much in the Winter Simlympics, and, until the next ice age, won't be hosting the winter simlympics either. So, I am bidding for yet another ISC session, my third bid in a row
More to come soon...

BTW, Galanos is the fifth most populous city in New Chandler, compared to Winchester, which was #8, and Roseburgh, which is... small

Sorry about the double post, but you guys should get teased a little bit.
This is a promotion shown in the Galanos Transit System, Galanos has an expansive bus network and a small metro system with 6 stops.
Be warned, this is a VERY LARGE png image. If you have a good browser, you can click it to view in 1366x1886 (you want to do it, it looks amazing)

You can't imagine the great moments I've lived on the real "Galanos Bowl"... This would be my default stadium in SC4 if the BAT wasn't so undersized...
Cool job!

Re: CANCELLED: Galanos - 16th ISC Session - 2011
Blakeway, don't worry about it anymore, keep reading
Well anyway I thought I saved the game after taking the picture, and I didn't so, the skyline might look different while I try to build it. It'll be better Promise!
and Tekindus you really should have known that earlier...

Re: CANCELLED: Galanos - 16th ISC Session - 2011
A monsoon stopped by the Mangrove Riviera, a popular resort. The ISC would be staying just down the street from these buildings. The Mangrove Riviera is a national park, the only one to have a gigantic resort built directly on top of it. Although controversial, this resort serves home for more than fifty thousand tourists a year, making it one of the most popular resorts in the country.
If you think this picture is awesome, you are wrong. If you click it then you will get an awesome picture. Seriously, do it. (1366x780 PNG image)
(also you may have noticed this news provider is the same one from the recent torch relay and block party, although it has got a slight makeover)

The ISC Session logo is an olive branch colored in the Simlympic colors. The branch obviously resembles peace, however, coincidentally, several olive trees grow around Galanos.

Re: CANCELLED: Galanos - 16th ISC Session - 2011
The Mangrove Riviera is a federally protected natural area about twenty minutes from the Galanos City Center and about ten minutes from Don Sennheiser International Airport, the airport serving Galanos. "The Resort at Mangrove Resort" is an attractive resort built before the area was protected, it would be where the ISC would be staying if the session was held in New Chandler again.
The resort is home to several wonderful hikes through the mangroves where they aren't extremely thick (most of the time they are) and the trees nearby. There are pools, spas, and sporting courts throughout the complex. The actual building the ISC would stay in is the one to the right of the one which the sun is reflecting from.

Very nice, but that dirt road might bump our voter's butts on the way to and from voting...

Re: CANCELLED: Galanos - 16th ISC Session - 2011
The Galanos bid for the 16TH ISC Session has officially been cancelled. I think that my work will have to be extremely difficult to host the session as I hosted it last time, and I am against competitors that (no offense to wacky) will be much tougher. Not to mention, there are three people against me versus one. I don't think I can amp my game up that much, in all honesty.
Secondly, I feel a little bad for bidding against someone thats from my own union, the COFR (Duwamish). I have thought about this for a while, and it just seemed sort of stupid, I would rather him get the rights; me taking them again, in my eyes, seems selfish.
Finally, I want time to prepare for my master plan :twister: my bid for the summer Simlympic games bid (which will be whatever one falls between the months of June and August, most likely). I have a thread in the future bids section right now, and will continue to tease you all when I feel like it.
New Chandler will still be hosting the torch relay and another fun block party.
New Chandler will also attempt to host preliminary events if offered and if they are available in the country (i.e. skiing, that will be tough in a tropical climate, but ice hockey will be easier).
New Chandler will also still be participating in the winter games as a random (summer is more popular in our country so...)
Thank you very much for the support. Good luck to Geoff, Melbourne, and Bruce, and any other people who bid; I can't wait to see what you guys pull off. I am sure you will all make fantastic bids

Re: CANCELLED: Galanos - 16th ISC Session - 2011
Well, i may have to go back to ISC Session, ill think about it. And Linktoria will also host a leg of the torch relay and a block party after the games, and host qualifying tournaments, and bid for the next games in April or May!
