Re: Show us your hometown
yes we do, 26 buildings over 150m. But unfortunately there are no tall buildings being constructed. THere was a 600m tall tower proposed by Grocon but it was denied!

Re: Show us your hometown
This is Howth, a peninsula in North Dublin that offers fantastic views of Dublin Bay and the Wicklow mountains. This is one of the areas you get to live in Dublin if you have a lot of money. I was there a couple of weeks ago, walked 5 miles around the peninsula and took a LOT of pictures
This is Howth town which is a small fishing village but also has a large marina.
This is the Howth Lighthouse, looking out over Dublin Bay and the Wicklow Mountains to the South
One of many Martello towers in the area
You can see Dublin port here and the Poolbeg smokestacks

Re: Show us your hometown
my hometown is Thessaloniki, in Macedonia, northern Greece! It has a population of 1.5 million and a history of 2.300 years! It is the second largest city in Greece, after Athens (3.4 million), and it was the second biggest city in the following empires: Roman (not the second biggest, but very important), Byzantine ("the co-capital"), Ottoman, and was liberated in 1912! Thessaloniki was also an Olympic City in the Athens 2004 summer olympics. Some pictures:
The White Tower, the city's most famous landmark.
The city...
The metro map (not yet finished)
Aristotle Plaza (before renovation), the city's most famous plaza.
The seafront...
The Olympic Stadium
The kamara, or else Roman Arch. (the city also has a Rotunda, Walls and an Imperial Palace, all dating back to the Roman Empire and the Byzantine Empire)
The seafront (again)
Absolute Vodka Commercial about Thessaloniki
The Institute of Macedonian Studies building (with some Olympic Airlines commercials on it xD)
The Thessaloniki Concert Hall
Aristotle Plaza as it is decorated every Christmas (its really beautiful that time of the year!)

Re: Show us your hometown
very nice pictures of Thessaloniki(hope I spelled that right) and where in the States do you want to study(50 States and way too many Colleges/Universities to even attempt to name)? and better yet what do you want to study while over here?
Re: Show us your hometown
yep, thessaloniki. It means victory (niki - u know it as "nike", the sports brand) against the Thessalians... actually the athenians tease the people from my city because (they say) we pronounced the letter "L" thicker than they do (which is partially correct) and they say that Thessaloniki is the only city spelled with two "S" and pronounced with two "L" lol
Hm, and I have not made my mind up yet - i will go to university there after i get my first degree here in Greece, probably at Macedonia University in Thessaloniki. I would like to study International Relations or Architecture... I havent made my mind up yet

Personally I live in a small satelite village 7 miles south of belfast but my school, work and realitives homes are all in belfast. About 285,000 people live in Belfast, which is the capital and largest city of Northern Ireland. Founded on the mouth of the Lagan River in 1613 by settlers from Britain, Belfast took its name from Beal Feirsde (Irish for "the mouth of the sandbank").
