How the World Cup Works
Information on the biggest event in the Rugby calender
The SSRF Rugby World Cup works in very much the same way as its real life equivalent. There will be a maximum of 20 teams in the tournament (if more then 20 teams have joined the SSRF, qualification will take place and of less, changes will be made to the sizes of the pools). There will be 4 groups of 5, with each team playing every other team once. The best performing two teams will then advance to the quarter finals, the winners moving on to the semi finals and so on. The groups will be seeded, meaning that a team ranked 1st will not be in the same group as a team ranked 2nd, meaning that it will be more likely that the better teams compete in the latter stages of the competition. Bidding does not open yet, but there will be ten different stadiums all playing host to at least 2 world cup games, with one major, large stadium hosting 11 games, including the final of the cup. The SSRF Rugby World Cup begins on October the First, lasts for 45 days and finishes on Monday the 14th of November, when the final takes place. Bidding to host the cup will commence on June the 10th. Any queries or comments, leave them in the topic, thanks for reading
