Quad Cities ISC 2011
The Quad Cities has made bids for past Simlympic events, and while still dreaming of hosting the Simlympics in the future, our cities currently lack a main Simlympic area. Therefore we are bidding to the 2011 ISC Session while we prepare ourselves for future Simlympic bids.
Our Bid will contain:
1. An overview of the metro area
2. Transportation
3. Accomodations for ISC members
4. ISC Venue
5. Entertainment
6. Summary
Unfortunately due to a strike within the Graphic Designer's Union, Mayorm had to design our logo which is shown below:
The logo shows the rings of the Simlympic logo falling, symbolizing that the desicon of the host city falls on the Quad Cities hosting the ISC session. The words also represent that, and the words "And the Honor for all" represent the athletes participating in the events as well as the citizens of the countriees participating.
more to come next post
Also if anybody can take my logo and make it better, please let me know

Re: Quad Cities ISC 2011
Thanks Will I owe you one
And now I would like to present an overview of the Quad Cities and its rich sports history.
Overview:
The Quad Cities is a sprawling metro area set in the beautiful region of Marquette. Most of the area is bordered by the Marquette Sea to the west, and the Stillsen Hills to the east. The cities of Port Charlotte, New Chatham, Renior, and Kane River form the four anchor cities of the metro area, while numerous suburbs and outlying towns all contribute to the size of the metro area. Together all the combined populations give a total of over 2 million people to the metro area.
The Quad Cities has a rich sports history with many local ameture, youth, and proffesional leagues, as well as international teams in many Simsports. (All Simsports team logos shown below) Besides haveing teams in leagues such as the STHL, STLL, SLB, and SFL, most cities have teams in local leagues like the ICHA (Independent College Hockey Association), ILB (Intercity League Baseball), and the CSU (Collegiate Sports Union). With many teams competing locally and internationally the Quad Cities and vicinity is the perfect fit for the ISC session.
The economy of the region is booming at a time when most of the world's economies are down. Many industrial and commercial jobs keep the overall unemployment rate at 3.2%. International corporations such as Food Lion, Ford, AT&T, Honda, GM, Edward Jones, Scottrade, and Belle are among many others with regional headquarters in the metro area. With the economy soaring and unemployment rate down there is a lot of money and wealth to support the cost of an ISC Session.
Now I will leave you with some pictures:

Re: Quad Cities ISC 2011
It looks nice, but the metro area's zoning looks sort of disorganized, if you will. For example, I couldn't be able to tell where your downtown is.
The region looks good though

Re: Quad Cities ISC 2011
K50 Dude- Thank you, the reason you can't tell where the specific downtowns are, is becuase I have zoned all highrise areas along the water and in other places. In the picture there are actually two of the downtowns shown, Renior, and New Chatham, Port Charlotte is out of the picture to the north, and Kane River just to the east.
Transportation:
The ISC members and spectators that also come to see the ISC session will have numerous transportation oppurtunities.
ISC Members:
ISC members will be flown into the Eires Airport which is closest and more private than Port Charlotte International.
The Eires Airport is currently being expanded so that it may become an international airport to replace Port Charlotte International. Right now however the airport can handle a few extra international flights, and if the Quad Cities hosts the ISC session, it will be closed to all flights except for the ISC flight.
From the airport, committee members will then be transported to their hotel (location to be revealed in next update) via individual private limosines, paid for by Mayorm himself. Transportation from the hotel to venue where the ISC session will be held will also be by private limosines. Also the entire group of limosines will be accompanied by a police escourt to avoid all Quad Cities traffic.
Spectators:
All spectators for the ISC session will be flown into one of three international aiports in the region, Port Charlotte International, New Chatham International, and Louis Lebeau-Renior International. From the airports spectators may then take QCTA Metro trains, or buses, taxis, and ferries to their selected hotel. Spectators may also take an Amtrak or Via Rail train to Renior Union Terminal, New Chatham Union Station, or Charlotte City Station.
Overview of Transportation:
Transportation in the Quad Cities is extensive, QCTA (Quad Cities Transit Authority) operates bus, metro rail, and ferry service to all cities in the metro area. Taxis are available for those who wish to pay for them, Amtrak and Via Rail also operate extensive service to all the cities in the metro area, and through a deal with the QCTA, Regional Rail serves numerous stations through out the metro area (Regional Rail is similar to Chicago's Metra). If you are driving, there are numerous highways and expressways to take anywhere you want to go, however traffic can be terrible at peak times. The metro area is also carrying out its Highway Project which is connecting exsisting highways together, as well as building more.
