PAS for the IV Winter Games closed.

The Points Allocation System (PAS) allows competitors to add emphasis to sports their athletes should do better in, all from one easy to use form.

Each competing nation receives 1000 points, plus bonuses, which they can use to assign to all the different Simlympic sports. You can also chose not to compete in certain sports simply by assigning that sport with 0 points.

PAS is now Open for the IV Winter Simlympiad (February 2012). It will close promptly on Sunday 29 January to allow the qualification tournaments to be run.

Bonus points:
The method of calculating your points total uses a system of diminishing returns. This simply means that older bonuses aren't worth as much as newer bonuses. Better keep active if you want that Simlympic spirit to transfer into PAS points!

Participation: you get a 25 point bonus simply for competing in the Simlympics.
Bidding: Submitting a legitimate bid that makes it to the ISC session will see you earn a 50 point bonus.
Hosting: Hosting is a big deal, so if you win hosting rights for the Simlympics, you get a whopping 150 point bonus.

Thanks to the dimishing returns, it is possible that your points total can go down from games to games, although not as sharply as it rises with bidding and hosting bonuses.

I don't want to sound snobby but I feel like my point total is lower than it should be... maybe I'm not reading right but shouldn't I have at least a few of my 150 points from hosting last time added in?

We took the decision to keep summer and winter points separate, so the big points will be waiting for you next games. Meanwhile, canuck will slaughter us all, at least on paper
