Qualifying Tournaments for the XVII Games
Welcome to the Qualifying Tournaments, the prelude to the team sports in the XVII Simlympic Games!
Qualifying Tournaments are held to prune the number of competitors in certain events for which there is a limit on the number of competitors in the games proper (normally team sports). The Tournaments are held in the fortnight prior the the games Opening Ceremony, and are like having all the preliminary rounds early.
The Tournaments are not hosted by the main games host, but rather are held in other countries of the sim-world. Current ISC policy is to offer the tournaments first to unsuccessful Simlympics bidders (hence you may miss out if they want the same events). Tournament hosts are expected to supply venue pictures and associated information, and to be available for a two- or three-day period between September 22nd through September 30th to post the results, similar to how its done during the Simlympics.
For the summer games, there are 16 qualifying tournaments to be held, in the following sports:
Baseball (Mens) - *Wacky32
Basketball (Mens) - Kingdom of Hispania
Basketball (Womens) - Kingdom of Hispania

On those grounds, can I take men's and women's football please? I've got several venues from the Galanos bid to do thatJoe 90 wrote:The Tournaments are not hosted by the main games host, but rather are held in other countries of the sim-world. Re: Qualifying Tournaments for the XVII Games
I'm sorry I forgot the "unsuccessful bidders" rule. And I'm pretty sure I didn't bid for the Simlympics.
I just hope that rugby, or just one game, is left over after the bidders choose their games.

Re: Qualifying Tournaments for the XVII Games
If the ISC would allow CitiesXL cities then I might consider hosting either the basketball or volleyball men's and women's qualifiers. How many venues would be needed?

Re: Qualifying Tournaments for the XVII Games
If you did one of these tournaments in real life, you'd need heaps (100+ teams). Doing it here, we're not too bothered with that so a couple of nice venues would be good

Re: Qualifying Tournaments for the XVII Games
LOL, I don't think you understood what I said.
"Beforehand pictures"... that means stuff before the results themselves. I'm making advertisements, screenshots, news, et cetera... I'm asking if I can start the topic now to post THAT stuff.
