111222333444: Thank you
Republic: Yeah, I know you have. The point of this thread is to allow Simsports members, who don't visit the AIN or Simtropolis on a regular basis, to be able to see the entries here and comment here, you see.

Re: Queensland (AIN)
Well, they were intentionally made translucent so they wouldn't cover up parts of the pictures too much
Thanks for the comment

The street fight that turned into a nation's struggle
Another special history update this week!
---
"Private James R. Stein (Service No. 36504556) of the 404th Signal Company of the US Army had been drinking in the Queenslander Army canteen. He left the Queenslander canteen and started to walk towards the American PX canteen (Postal Exchange) which was about 50 yards up the street on the corner of Creek and Adelaide Streets. This building was still in existence in the year 2000. Private Stein had been indulging himself on the XXXX beer. He meet up with 3 Queensland soldiers who had also had also been drinking. They started to chat.
As they were talking, along came Private Anthony E. O'Sullivan, who challenged Private Stein for his leave pass. While Stein was fidgeting around to find his leave pass, the MP became impatient and asked Stein to hurry up as he did not have all night. At this point in time his new-found Queenslander mates had a go at the MP and told the MP to take it easy and leave Stein alone.
After some cursing, etc, a baton was raised and arms and legs started to fly in all directions..."
Coming soon...

Re: Queensland (AIN)
Republic: Umm, I'm not behind. You should've realized by now that AIN members always get to see new QLD entries a week ahead.
So, it's kinda on purpose... #failWill, #failRepublic
111222333444: I didn't know that that was your birthday. D:

Just a walk in the park...
SimSports Update #4
Mainland Queensland & Norfolk Island Autonomous Territory
The skies on the morning of the 18th, in the city of Kingston, were not hospitable to say the least. Dark green skies above the
Norfolk Island Legislative Assembly resembled something ominous in nature. It was as if the clouds would suddenly collapse & a
catastrophic torrent would come down on the assembly building with an unprecedented force.
In the canalside areas of Brisbane at noon, the thick clouds had an impact, though quite a negligible impact, on visibility. Rather
the formation was considered unsettling. Of course, this formation would eventually give way to precipitation.
And it did. By evening time, heavy rain was throughout Greater Brisbane. Metres away from the headquarters of the nation's
centre-left coalition, the increase of the water level in the canal was apparent. By morning, the walking areas on the banks of
the canal would be submerged.
Nearly 1,700 kilometres northwest, not even a drop of rain fell in the city of Cairns. In fact, the city centre was hot and humid.
By midnight, Brisbane was also dry. The rain had ceased, and the bustling city was still wide awake...
Thanks for viewing!
Commentary: If you're guessing supernatural activity, YOU'RE WRONG. I don't do stuff like that. This was intended to be something more like a tropical storm...
The last picture was just a bonus. I wanted to hear what you guys think about the QLD flag on a building.

Working on Cairns
SimSports Update #5
Cairns, Far North State
Commentary: This is not really a teaser, but more like a one-pic entry, just to show how I've changed the city centre of Cairns.
I really didn't even intend to put high-rises in anywhere outside Brisbane and Gold Coast in the beginning, but... I just couldn't resist.
I've been busy outside of SC4 lately. I hope to be able to post the WWII entry next week.

Travel Interior...
SimSports Update #6
Longreach, West Queensland
Thanks for viewing.
Commentary: For the first time ever, we travel away from the coastline and to the isolated areas of Queensland in the interior. The tiny town of Longreach is only the beginning.
Special thanks to Fox who helped a lot with the photoshopping.
The historical entry? I'm still trying to create a 1940's Brisbane...

Queensland Defence
SimSports Update #7
Lady Elliot Island, Great Barrier Reef
Thanks for viewing.
Commentary: I decided to make Queensland look a little militaristic, here, for the first time. Queensland, of course, isn't the type to boast about having a GIANT and POWERFUL military when it doesn't have one but of course it does have an armed forces, which today is based on the ideology of purely self-defense, pacifism, and non-intervention.
Here, you see a fighter jet taking off from the island's runway, then a military vessel approaching the island's coast and anchoring. These two pictures are supposed to be taking place at different times and are both exercises. Many of Queensland's islands are occasionally used by the Queensland military for exercise.
