the olympics began in Olympia, Greece like a thousand years ago, i think even as far as Greek mythology, so the concept of the games was invented by the Greeks,
then modern olympics was started by Pierre de Coubertin in France 1894

Actually 2784 years ago xD And If i am not mistaken, the first Modern Olympics took place in Athens in 1896?

Yeah, they did. But the idea of the modern Olympics was created by Pierre de Coubertin, in Paris.
