The City of Hetherton, within Greater Exmouth, Victoria will be bidding for the next summer Simlympics. An urban metropolis that is under going a major re-development from the dock region, to industrial areas to rapid expansion into the surrounding hills. At present, the regional population stands at around 880,000 people but is rapidly increasing. As such, the City Council has deemed it the perfect time to place a bid for the Simlympics. With its situation on the mouth of the Yarra River and Monash Bay surrounded by hills the city can offer the prefect position to host the most succesfull games ever. With a focus on being green, the city has made pledges to cut air and water pollution through shutting down factories, promoting carpooling and mass transit. Eventhough the city relies on a network of highways the subway, ferry and bus networks. There will be the construction of multiple parks and recreational facilities to improve the city and make it an environmentally friendly city and hopefully environmentally friendly host city.

For this bid, I decided not to go for an overly extravagant city which has been heavily planned out. I decided to just simply build a natural city. This is was 100% natural growth and I just let it grow like an Australian or American city with the centralised CBD and sprawling suburbia. A reflection of the typical city.

As the city is committed to creating a green city and a green games the Westport Industrial Zone is being destroyed and relocated to various locations where it will have a minimal impact upon the environment and with advancements of carbon capture in the nation of Victoria the emissions from any new industrial zone will have minimal emissions. Well anyway, here are the steps of the removal of the zone, it will be redesigned as a commercial and residential suburb and will be the location for a major sporting venue for part of the bid.

Just a little update, this is the lead-up to the bid, if that makes sense, so the official one when the time comes will be polished, this is putting the information out for all to see

Also, there have been ferry terminals established to connect to the East Bank of the river and also to the wider regional network.

The Stadia
Here are the three main venues for the Hetherton Bid. These three are located in the Simlympic Park which is located adjacent to the CBD. There are secondary venues dotted around the city to be seen shortly.

Here are the other two main stadiums in the city of Hetherton, Leopold Irving Arena and Hustoldt Indoor Complex


Leopold Irving Arena is located in the new area of Westport and is easily reached from the Simlympic Park via the brand new monorail network, the subway network or the highway network. It will play host to qualifying events and all the lead up matches including the quaterfinals of soccer etc.



Hustoldt Indoor Complex is located directly opposite the CBD providing easy access to the transport network. It will host a wide variety of indoor events.

This is obviously just an aerial shot of Hetherton, within the Greater Exmouth region. To the left, and just out of view are the Apalatian Mountains and Mount Halley a dormant volcano. You can see the Yarra River winding its way up into the mountains. Events such as mountain biking will be held in the lower reaches of the Apalatians.

There will be a transport shot also to follow

Here are two preliminary logos for the bid. The official one is yet to be released and will not be made with Paint as these ones clearly have been.
The convergence of all the lines is to represent all the nations coming together in one event for one cause. And it also looks similar to the athletics track.

I quite like that logo design, it's a great concept .
