Re: The race for 2016..
Let me rephrase that - there is protests planned when the IOC Visits Chicago.
And oh, this will certainly help Rio......

Re: The race for 2016..
Here is my opinion from the get go:
Doha: Would of been VERY interesting. Qatar is a very wealthy country which means we could of seen some AMAZING venues. Unfortunatley they don't have a chance.
Prague: Slacker, you are right. Prague is definently not possible after Athens in 2004, Turin in 2006, London in 2012, and Sochi in 2014.
Madrid: My whole family thinks they are going to win. I hope they don't.
Tokyo: Would be good, but Beijing just happened.
Baku: I have never heard of Baku. I don't think I'm alone.
Rio: Would be good. South America doesn't get Olympics often to what I know....
Chicago: Would be good but 2002 was Salt Lake City, and in 2020 six american cites (Birmingham, Detroit, Minneapolis, Tulsa, Boston, Pittsburg) are bidding (finally).
So I am either Rio or Chicago. Mabye Doha but I don't think so. OCTOBER 2ND! Save the date!

Baku,Prauge, and Doha have long been removed from candidates. Chicago hasn't got a chance in hell even with Obama. So it's Rio or Tokyo and you're right Beijing just happened it's going to be rio no doubt.
And South America has never gotten the olympic games

Re: The race for 2016..
In my opinion, Doha may not get chosen. Why? During the 2006 Asian Games, when the rain came after the Opening Ceremony, the transportation isn't sufficient. Furthermore, everyone were forced to go outside the Stadium despite the rain. Eventually, it didn't get shortlisted.
About Chicago, Prague and Madrid (or any USA or European bids), sorry if i sound insulting but I hope they don't host the next Olympics. Why? Throughout the whole Olympics hosting history, it's mostly either an USA city or a European city hosting the Olympics.
Since Beijing has hosted the previous Olympics (2008) and Singapore hosting the 2010 Youth Olympic Games, I think Rio de Janerio should host the 2016 Olympics.

I don't entirely agree with that, yes the games have been pretty much exclusive to Europe and North America but I think just because an area has seen the games a lot it's unfair to say you have the better bid and right now the better city than a city in South America or Africa.... but they've never had the games so we'll give it to them. That just doesn't seem right, in this case after studying the bids and weighing in economic and security concerns I think Tokyo is the best bid. But... because the games were just in Beijing they haven't a chance. That being said Rio is the next option and south America has never had the games it's really no contest I would be stunned if Rio did not get the games.
A side note
There are only 4 cities left in the bidding process
-Tokyo Japan
-Rio Brazil
-Chicago USA
-Madrid Spain
the rest have been eliminated from contention by the IOC.

K50 Detroit is not I repeat is not Bidding for an Olympics
I live here in the D and whil it'd be nice our economy is way to fucked up right now to even think of something like that. We're still trying to get mass transit in this city .

Re: The race for 2016..
I have a feeling Rio is going to get it... who knows though. Pretty certain Madrid has no chance.

Which he shows no intent of doing, but he's a big sports fan, who knows. Chicago hurt themselves with protestors.
