Your recap thing doesn't do too much Wacky
Italy, Germany, Brazil, Korea (south), England, and the USA all look like contenders, though that is just what I have seen. I am not a soccer guy (American Football FTW!)

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
yeah, youre right, but Germany looks really good after killing Australlia 4-0. There is also an IFAF. Alot of other countries have national American football teams. Times tomorrow are same America wise.

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
USA are not contenders. The media may be playing that 1-1 draw up to be a Great American Victory, but the USA goal should never have happened, and they were lucky the English didn't put a few more away. And lets be fair, the English are hardly the elite of world football at the moment. If they get out of their group, their next assignment will most likely be against the Germans, and you aren't winning that one.
I can't see anyone outside the usual suspects (Germany, Italy, Brazil, Argentina) or Spain winning it, and the Germans were very impressive in dispatching the Shackle-Draggers this morning.
I also see that the Slovaks think they have the mighty All Whites figured out, which is no real surprise given our players (tall strikers = lots of high balls). However, it is one thing to know what we're going to do, and quite another to stop us

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
I agree Joe, i wish we were so good. I mean 1994 World Cup began the MLS. But I think its Germany or Brazil. 2014 champs are Brazil they are hosting it, GIVE THEM THE TROPHY MAN!!
Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
Well I was watching something (ESPN maybe?) where in 1950 the USA won the World Cup and it was a miracle. thirty years later (1980) the USA beat the Soviet Union and that was the "miracle on ice" and now it has been another thirty years. Ironic?
I must admit though that whoever wrote that transcript for the show must of been high on something, because I partially agree with you Joe. Germany and Brazil look good as far as skill goes... But then again, I am not a soccer person.

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
In 1950 the USA caused one of the biggest upsets ever by defeating England 1-0 in a World Cup match - and ESPN aren't letting anyone forget it. But it was a single game, and definately not the final. IIRC Uruguay won that cup.
The best the USA have ever done is reached the quarter-finals.

Italy and Paraguay tie, that shouldn't have happened. I heard that Denmark scored on themselves. EPIC FAIL.

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
I was surprised to see the US tie England, in my opinion Soccer talent in the US sucks beyond college level. After college Americans just can't seem to play soccer. But we can play Baseball

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
You mean there is an Italian-American team, Dutch-American team with some guys from Curacao, some Australian minor-leaguers, Japan, Korea, didn't-know-the-Chinese-played-baseball-but-if-Taiwan-does-they'll-really-want-to-beat-them-at-it, USA, Canada, several Central American ex-pat selections which include mostly born-and-bred Americans like A-Rod, Dirty Rotten Evil Cuba, and some Saffer minor leaguers (assuming there are some).canuck3360 wrote:yeah saw that Big Butter Jesus had melted

Anyway, back to the real World Cup. The mighty ALL WHITES now sit second in Group F, trailing World Champions Italy only on alphabetical classification.
