Re: General Soccer Discussion
Ahem... it is football!
I'm pleased this World Cup seems to have heightened the interest of the sport in the States . So I'll take this opportunity to promote the Champions League if you're looking for my Football action now that the World Cup is over.
The Champions League is quite simply the best club competition on earth, the best club teams across Europe compete over a season to be crowned best club in Europe, the football is exciting and the best you'll see anywhere. So yeah, highly recommend following the Champions League next season .

Re: General Soccer Discussion
I thought Rickwood Field in Birmingham (Alabama) was old (1910), then I come to learn some of these European Stadiums have been around since before 1900? That does shock me, our oldest stadium was built in 1903.

Portland Oregon is getting a MLS team next season and they are remodeling PGE Park (maybe it won't look like a big hunk of junk now). CG: There is a big rivalry against the sounders FC soon, should be very fun to watch

There was a bombing in Uganda (country in East Africa) that killed 74 people watching the finals match, on included an American spokeswoman!
Re: General Soccer Discussion
Sounders lost 1-2 to Celtic FC in a friendly after the idiot-of-a-ref refused to let a Celtic goal go through and red-carded our back-up goalkeeper. We had to bring out our third goalkeeper, who had to survive a penalty kick and also didn't begin training yet!
