Not just one of the oldest SimSports competitions around, but also one of the biggest!

SLB 2008



The 2008 SLB season is already well underway (it runs parallel to the real MLB season - April to October), featuring 44 teams representing Simtropolis and SC4Devotion. It's shaping up to be a great fight for the playoff spots and ultimately the right to represent their league in the 2008 SLB World Series!

In addition to the 44 major-league teams, a further 28 teams contest the Simtropolis-based AAA minor-league series, which runs three times a year during the SLB season. It has already proved to be a great nurturing ground for teams wishing to make the next step up.

Technical Stuff

Games are simulated using the 'Out of the Park' (OOTP) baseball simulator, which allows you to follow not just your team, but also collates stats for every player, allowing you to keep up to date with everything from home run leaders to injuries to player trades. Check out the Official SLB Site to see what I mean.

The SLB season runs from April to October. AAA Leagues generally run May-June, July-August, and September-October. To pass the offseason, the Winter League runs from January-February and encompasses all teams.

Team Entry Criteria:

Please note that although we always welcome new entries, the next league to start will be the Winter League (for all levels), which begins in January 2009.

In the interest of providing a varied competition, prospective owners are limited to three SLB teams each, with a maximum of two teams in either league (ie. two in ST and one in SC4D, or vice versa). Teams will be accepted from towns and cities with a metropolitan population over 10,000 according to the following restrictions:

A single city (metropolitan area) can have a maximum of:
>10k population = 1 minor league team
>100k population = 1 SLB team OR 1 minor league team
>500k population = 1 SLB team & 1 minor league team
>1.0M population = 2 SLB teams & 1 minor league team

If your team is new to the Major Leagues, an overview picture of your city / stadium will be required to show you have the necessary population base (100,000 sims minimum).

When you post the team details, please include the following as we need them for setting up the simulator:

Team Name
Team Colours
Home Stadium
Location (general area of the world your team is in)

A logo would be nice, although that isn't necessary (I can do them for free!)

Note teams cannot be moved (renamed) while in an active league.

Do I have a team in the SLB? I know I had two teams: Fortuna Foxes and Fortuna Falcons, the Falcons (or is it the foxes? ) are STHL but I'm not sure about the other side... hmmm.

Dragons are a popular choice - we already have regular Dragons, Red Dragons, and Sky Dragons (well, Skydrakar actually)! I'll have to get you to change that so you don't clash with another team. A different colour dragon would be ok
If you have a better quality version of the Ravens logo I'd be appreciative too - the fancy logos are basically just an overlay so it'll still look blurry. Alternatively, I could hunt down another Raven logo for you.

Despite all that, its good to have you along! Really!

Huge Change of plans.

Anyway of just having the Hypertrophy Ravens as the main league. I'll devise a AAA team instead. I would really appreciate it and I hope it is not too late.

I want to compose the AAA Team. But maybe next time. But I'll cut my losses on the Dragons and create the Ravens instead. I would love to get into the game, because Baseball is my love of the sport more than anything. So I hope its not too late, but thank you very much.

Next tournament is the Winter League, which starts in January. Its open to all teams, SLB & AAA, and is kind of like spring training.
