NCAA Football Discussions
NCAA aka Cheat to win discussions here!
ok cheapshot but really look at all the top programs as of late all getting in trouble.
So with all these special one off jerseys what are your thoughts on them all?
Maryland(Under armor)-I liked them but then again I have deep ties to the Terps at last count 7 Family members are Alumnus of there and I have family all over Maryland so the whole Maryland pride thing worked on me lol.
Michigan(adidas)-Biased as hell and I loved them
Notre Dame(adidas)-I think the collars were too tight as they choked wearing them lol(they didn't look too bad)
Michigan State(Nike)-Just unveiled there's for their game against Michigan and Nike Pro Combat hit this one outta the park. Sweet design and great look and use of historical facts.
Boise State(Nike)-Not fond of it didn't hate it either
Georgia(Nike)-Didn't really like them, they already had a cool uni honestly
Oregon(Nike)-it took a while but I like them now at first not so much.
There are more comming I'll be intrigued to see what Stanford, Army and Navy do for theirs.

Re: NCAA Football Discussions
Maryland were very unique. Georgia's looks nice, but I cant read the names. Let me tell you all something..... GO LOUISVILLE! Laugh at me all you want, tell you what are team needs to step it up a notch.
(The Cards also changed thier jerseys again.)
Official: Texas A&M to SEC, looks like Baylor gave up.

Re: NCAA Football Discussions
Maryland - And I thought Oregon's were strange... but it gained them some popularity, half the country probably didn't know they existed. So I guess their plan for what they wanted them to do worked, but they look tacky to me.
Michigan - I didn't really care for the "M" in the middle, but the shoulders and helmet design always looks good.
Notre Dame - I really don't like anything about ND. They're my least favorite non-SEC team, probably my least favorite overall (then again, it might be because I despise Lou Holtz's attitude toward them). That means their uniforms automatically suck
Michigan State - Hmm, those fancy gloves look familiar...
Boise State - They looked good, but only because they didn't look bad. Agreed with you canuck.
Georgia - Their uniforms look good, but if there is an award for worst helmet in football, look no further!
Oregon - I lost track of them changing their uniforms years ago I wish we had the diamond-plating instead of the wings though, it looked way sweeter (we had it from 2006-2008ish)
That's my two cents

Maryland(Under armor)-I'ma call them the flaggies after that one, put your state flag on your uni like that, um, nah :\
Michigan(adidas)-Missed it but I like their usual ones.
Notre Dame(adidas)-See Michigan
Michigan State(Nike)-See Michigan
Boise State(Nike)-Was ok, their usual ones are radical enough to me for football.
Georgia(Nike)-Same as BS
Oregon(Nike)-See Michigan.
Roll Tide

Re: NCAA Football Discussions
K50 much like you I hate Notre Dame being a Michigan fan and all. The M in the middle was actually a nod to the old school uni's of yesteryear you know back when Michigan went undefeated and beat teams 77-0(I'm talking before Winged Helmet days)
A little sidenote Michigan's famous Winged Helmet was brought on by Fritz Crisler in 1938 to help the QB identify his receivers down the field.
MSU's gloves well yeah Nike has done that with every procombat team. Georgia had them too as did Boise State but honsetly outside of Oregon's, State's just look damn cool lol(and I hate Michigan State btw not nearly as much as ND and no where nearly as much as that university in Ohio)
Wacky-ummmmmmmm yeah Louisville really? lol
as to your little trinket at the end I think we'll be seeing the 4 super conferences very soon. Oklahoma told Texas they want out of the Big XII as well, And Texas has been rumored to be joining the B1G(or Big Ten for ya).
Big XII Teams and where I think they'll land
Baylor-Not sure yet
Iowa State- either B1G or MWC
Kansas-MWC
K State-MWC
Missouri-B1G
Oklahoma-Pac12
OK State-Pac12
Texas-B1G
Texas A&M-SEC
Texas Tech-SEC
The Big dogs will jump to bigger conferences while the minnows there will end up in a lesser DI conference.

Re: NCAA Football Discussions
Yup, two 16 team superconference, the SEC and the Pac-16
Boise State & Hawaii probably to the PAC-16 to make it 16, then VT and... hmmm... FSU? to the SEC. As For Baylor, we may see them head for independence if nothing else falls their way... or a new Sunbelt conference or something rebuilt from the ashes left off the Big-12? It would probably be a lesser conference with teams like Baylor and that new team from San Antonio that's going FBS

Re: NCAA Football Discussions
Kansas and K-State I think are most likely to end up in the Big East (this has been hinted at and I personally am pulling for it), it seems like the ideal place for Kansas being a more basketball focused conference and all. Talk here is where ever KU goes they'll bring K-State with. In my opinion this 16 team conference thing is going to be a complete disaster, everyone is being greedy right now and not giving a rat's ass about tradition or the compatibility of the schools.
As for Baylor, no one wants them
I see C-USA in the future.

Doubt it. We'd rather have Texas, OK, OK State, and Texas Tech before Boise State, and especially before Hawaii.simsamerica wrote:Boise State & Hawaii probably to the PAC-16 to make it 16

Jon:Sounds good to me, C-USA'd be a good fit for em.
K50: So you don't want the #4 team in the nation?
How bout Texas-San Antonio though? C-USA? Independent? or the newly smaller Big-5 as it will soon be almost

Re: NCAA Football Discussions
If we want a Pac-16, then no.
Oklahoma State and Texas Tech follow the Sooners and Cowgirls, respectively. I am pretty sure I heard that on ESPN a week or two ago. If we didn't want a Pac-16, then we probably would be happy with Boise. A Pac-18 or Pac-17 doesn't sound too hot

Re: NCAA Football Discussions
K50 it came out last week Texas and Notre Dame met with the Big 10 and it's likely by 2014 both will be in the B1G Texas has been trying to get in the big 10 since Penn State came in in the 90's they fit the profile in more than just Football they are an academic university as well.
Sims ummm 4 Super conferences not 2
Big10(at 16 lol)
ACC or Big East(whoever steals from whom and survives lol)
SEC(at 16)
PAC-16
then you'll have the minnows
all this will eventually lead us to where it should be a National Playoff system
also K50 LOVE that Billboard.
names you'll hear me call that school(never the proper name)
Suckeye State
The Fuckeyes
The Cheating University
and a few more lol

Re: NCAA Football Discussions
Eh, ACC/Big East? Nah, don't got the strength, Big 10's the same, it'd be half-super though probably. SEC and PAC-16 got strength.

doesn't have stregnth in the Big Ten?
ok lemme get this straight
OSU(even with the cheating) will likely be back to a power as they were
Michigan-after the Rich Rod disaster they're getting back to what made them the Winningest program of all time
MSU-ranked more often now and only looking up
Wisconsin-Perrenially up there
Nebraska-see Wisconsin
Iowa-See the last 2
Adding Texas in and possibly another
so that means squat eh? Oh might I add the B1G was the first of all conferences to push teh envelope and get their own TV network which is what the expansion is really about-money. Controlling your own TV network and adding in Texas's TV network will only add to the revenue which in turn will create the atmosphere for success.
The SEC and PAC16 will be up there too it won't be 2 bigs and a bunch of also rans in the end it will be 4 Super Conferences the 4th will be either the Big Least or ACC as they will pony up and build a new Super conference likely of a whole new name
Re: NCAA Football Discussions
Speakin of Tex Tex, sexual harrassment investigation just got reported on espn
Re: NCAA Football Discussions
Ok, heres how I think it's going to go:
ACC-
Pitt
Syracuse
UConn
Rutgers
PAC 16-
Texas
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
Texas Tech
SEC-
Texas A&M
West Virginia
Now, you may call me dumb on this situation, but I think this could work:
Big East remaints merge with Big 12 remaints:
NEW Big 12:
Louisville
Cincinnati
TCU
South Florida
Missouri
Kansas
Kansas State
Baylor
Iowa State
NEW:
SMU
Houston
BYU
There you go, the NEW Big 12, this could work as long as this is a BCS conference, and it's kind of a rebirth of the Southwestern conference. You may think this is stupid, but I think it's a good idea. Later on you could add UCF, Rice, Southern Miss, and maybe another CUSA school. But for now let's start with these 12 teams. Football wise some of these schools are small but Louisville will get it under control, Cincinnati is rebuilding, USF is really good, TCU is a powerhouse, Mizzou is good, Baylor is ranked, Iowa State is 3-0, SMU and Houston made bowl games last year and BYU is top notch. This could work to be a BCS conference, USF is far but, this is going to be the NEW Big 12. You may say different so go ahead.

Re: NCAA Football Discussions
Wacky one problem Texas has already met with the Big10 and is looking at the Big 10 to jump to.
Re: NCAA Football Discussions
That does not make sense location wise. Texas should go independent (just like Notre Dame) because of that stupid TV deal, thats why Big 12 is losing everyone. Everyone is sick and tired of being Texas' slave, that's why A&M left to the SEC. B1G 10, makes no sense for Texas.
Re: NCAA Football Discussions
As unrealistic as it is I like Wacky's idea of Texas being all along.

Re: NCAA Football Discussions
Wacky it does make sense when you look at the Big10 with their own network and allowing the Longhorn network to wrap in and become BTN2 it just increases the money all the schools get and in the ned that is what it is all about.
As for geographically sure it doesn't but in reality neither did Penn state at the time they added them into the conference, Nebraska was even kinda a reach geographically.
I think in the long run Notre Dame will join the Big10 as well they're not going to get the big money from NBC much longer if they don't start putting a team on the field, players don't wanna go to ND anymore just because it's ND they need to get in with a BCS conference and the B1G is the one that makes sense as they already play a few of those schools every year.
